The group together then went right along to meet the infamous Queen, who's beauty and castle was both praised in song as the prettiest one's ever seen.

The witch and the shepherdess both felt arise a fiery heat in their bones. "Don't our home country's chilis taste very nice?" Yet both only answered with groans. (Which one of those two types of people eating spicy food are you? I'm on the left, am a sensitive bean. 🥵)
[INKTOBER '23 | DAY 11 - Wander]
One of the traders suggested a deal. As they sat there and shared in the food, "As a way to say thanks for the wonderful meal, why don't you come join in our troop?"
[INKTOBER '23 | DAY 10 - Fortune]
In the hours of dawn, their bellies did ache, as the scent of a meal filled the air. A group of kind traders set their breakfast to bake, and quickly invited the pair.

"Leaving you here would not do at all!" The witch let our heroine know. "Climb up on my toad - I'll make sure you won't fall. Next stop: The city. Let's go!"
[INKTOBER '23 | DAY 8 - Toad]
A croak as deep as the thunder rang out, making them jump with a scare. Before them a witch with her big toad stood proud. Asking "What're you doing there?"
[INKTOBER '23 | DAY 7 - Drip]
The mermaid had carried them back to the shore. But the shepherdess still felt quite blue. "I abandoned my flock and neglected my chore! I'm wondering what I should do?"
[INKTOBER '23 | DAY 6 - Golden]
Just as their strength almost threatened to fade, a mermaid with long golden hair fished them right up and came to their aid chuckling: "Why would you jump in my lair?"

Their journey begun when they plunged in a stream, carrying them far, far from home, further than sheep or its keeper had been, between the waves crested with foam.

They stumbled and tumbled, right down the hill, right past the Bandit Chief''s crew. "Catch them!" she yelled and at them roared: "Hold still!" - yet gravity thwarted her coup.

Without looking back once, our heroine ran, over a path that wound left and right. Alas, this turned out a foolhardy plan: The sudden steep hillside won this brief fight.

The shepherdess woke from her sleep with a fright, before her a monster as dark as the night. Her sheep felt her jolt und joined in her scream, her valor and courage dispersed like a dream. [CW: SPIDER, artwork under the cut]
