Magnus and Alec standing together and embodying everything Valentine has always feared and despised the most.
#this was an understated but rly good moment#for two reasons the first being#i think there is a lot to be said abt valentine facing the head of the ny institute with his downworlder boyfriend by his side#like valentine’s comment abt downworlders was def more than#about just magnus being present in the institute#bc the clave has always used downworlders for their means valentine himself has used them for his own purposes#so this is not what he’s remarking on#but specifically about magnus being a part of alec’s life#who runs the institute and thus embodies the institute and so to valentine the#institute itself has been irrevocably tainted#and the second reason being alec standing with magnus to#offer his silent support#bc this is the first time magnus is stepping back into the space#where he had been tortured and also facing a man who has caused him so much pain#so i think that is also significant on that level as well#anyway i really like the imagery of magnus and alec standing together and a little apart from everyone else#bc their relationship is just really powerful in both the political and intimate sense (via @amorverus)
