Magnus was the only person that saw Johann die and he didn’t tell anyone and with how much stuff happened during Story and Song and how quickly it all happened he probably didn’t get a chance to and after they won he was most likely celebrating and forgot to tell people Johann had died so no one else knew so imagine someone like Avi or Killian or even Lucretia going around the base and cleaning up and looking for survivors and going into the voidfishs chambers and seeing Johanns body just lying there

Y'all we even going to talk about what a master of storytelling Griffin McElroy is? So much in TAZ had to be retconned and switched around for the storyline to be both cohesive and flow smoothly. The boys had their character backstories and details written out and Griffin had to figure out how to fill in the blanks…The entire IPRE story had only been added around The Crystal Kingdom, where Griffin began to plot forward and implant the story’s foreshadowing. The cosmoscope, the planes, the voidfish duet, Lucas theorizing about Fisher Junior, Barry recognizing Lup’ s umbrella….Taako’s story in particular had to be switched around a lot for the twin plot to work out, and he even surprised his brother Justin by saying he had a forgotten twin sister and Taako had been betrayed by his old friend, Sazed. When Griffin had Lucas mention that black glass could lead to another plane and that Phandolin had been reduced to black circular glass and we didn’t even blink an eye. When Griffin told Clint there was no way Merle’s kids were in their 60s and were probably under 12 and we all just accepted it. Just. The more you think of it the more you realize just how much Griffin had to make work with the timeline and the hunger story and I’m just. So. Impressed by his masterful skill with writing.

The new live show was great but by far the funniest fucking part was when griffin said “you have to kill lucas miller” and the crowd went absolutely WILD

You know what was probably hellish? 

The human brain doesn’t reach maturity until around 25~. Lucretia was 18 and Magnus was 22 during TSC. And they’re just… stuck at that stage in development for a century.  Almost adults, having gone through so much more shit then most adults, and yet still not quite there. It sounds miserable to me. 

I can’t help but think it would be a bit like getting a brain injury before your brain is done maturing? Which messes up the way your brain grows, which naturally impacts how you’re able to process trauma and information etc.

Magnus and Lucretia are at least through puberty when they leave, but they’re definitely not running around with adult brains and I think that’s something to consider when we think about them during the century. Especially when we look at Lucretia voidfishing the crew.

And I also wonder what it was like for them to finally get to age. It’s just…really interesting stuff to think about. Particularly as sm with a neonatal brain injury.

I think remembering how fucked up Lucretia’s sense of time would be after SC is really integral to understanding her choices tbh. 

Two of her major flaws are her tunnel vision and inability to think through long-term consequences - both of which are very normal for a young adult who’s still developing their pre-frontal cortex. A normal human person would have their whole early adulthood to grow out of those tendencies as their brains complex planning, risk management, and decision making skills really started to kick in. But Lucretia? 

Lucretia never had the life experience to guide that development. She goes from being a functionally immortal teen/20-something to a 40ish year old woman in the blink of an eye.

 God only knows what that does to someone’s brain, especially paired with the general trauma of Wonderland. And while I wouldn’t take it so far as to argue that Lucretia has to be interpreted as someone with a brain injury, I definitely think it’s important to contextualize jut how skewed her worldview was from spending the majority of her adult life in this perpetual state of baby-adulthood. 

Hey taz fandom? I’m not digging that you’re all insinuating that the newest theory is that the man who bombed Magnus’s home, killed his wife and 75 other people, and ruined his life, was a man of color, specifically a black man.
