LF RP FC Balmung/Mateus

Hello! After much thinking, I decided to try and branch out on some alts to stick my feet into some new groups of people/FCs/RPs. What I’m looking for per character is listed below, as well as some general stuff about me at the bottom. If you know of a good FC that might fit, please do let me know!

Josephine Gallier, Balmung A no-nonsense woman raised in a Brume orphanage that has struggled with lowborn stigma most her life. After working as a retainer for the lord that took her from the poor house, Josephine reached a breaking point. Dissatisfied with the corruption that comes with coin, she has taken up the vigilante mantle of “the Swallow,” and seeks betterment of the less fortunate through the disruption of the high class. By night she robs from the rich to give to the poor, and by day maintains a distant yet dignified mask that society expects of her. Her true passion is music, specifically the piano, but she is good with machines and likes to tinker. What I’m Looking for: An FC themed in a way in which she can either do business work for (ie accounting, management, paperwork) by day, or one themed more morally grey to facilitate her nighttime lifestyle. I will also consider FCs that may need a pianist by day (though performance RP is a huge anxiety thing for me). What I’m Not Looking for: General mercenary FCs, overly combat-centric groups, monster-hunting etc UNLESS the IC position would only be the business organization side.

Penelope Wright, Mateus A curious, young nature and beastkin lover. Penny has spent most of her life researching and studying the creatures of Eorzea, their behaviors, and their environment. Her father was a renowned member of Clan Centurio, and some of her own research has been used to help hunters target dangerous or invasive species. She doesn’t really consider what she does work, as she’d likely be doing it anyway. But gil does keep her stomach full, and she does like food.

What I’m Looking for: Mercenary/monster-hunting FCs that might need someone to gather information or ‘targets’ for them to hunt down. Generally good-aligned.

What I’m Not Looking for: Combat-only FCs, I am super fine helping organize hunts or the like, but Penny herself is not combat experienced at all. Tavern/performance halls without the mercenary attachment. Dark-themes or dark-aligned.

A bit about me in general/OOC Info:

-I’m incredibly shy and anxious: I’m doing my best to branch out, but I may not be super talkative at first. I may not be able to attend every event right away, and would prefer a chill, supportive environment.

-I have a lot of alts: These are alt characters, and I play a lot across two servers. Meaning, the FC would have to be cool with me not devoting my time to them singularly. I may not be at every event/session, but I will do my best to make sure I don’t neglect it either. 

-I’m PST/NA: At the moment, I have a fairly open schedule, but EU-based and maybe even some EST-based FCs may not be the best fit for me, depending on activity. 

-I like structure: I love FC-run campaigns/storylines, and am not huge on social/casual only RP. I much prefer regular events and RP that goes beyond meeting at a bar and small talk. (This stuff is of course fine, as long as there’s other things too!)

-I’m pretty strict with my lore: This is where I may turn off quite a few people. I don’t do well with FCs or people that like to do lore-breaking things. My characters are fairly simple, not WoLs or grand adventurers, and I would prefer to stick ‘em in a place with similar mindsets. I’m totally cool if people want to play voidtouched, or WoLs, or OP mages, or time travelers from another dimension, but it is not my preference to RP with.

BIG OL commission for… several people… of the court of thieves! ty to everyone who commissioned me!

So I kinda, have to break the bit of laughs to Share something very personal that is going on in my life right now

This has been one of the rare moments in my life where i’ve felt absolutely powerless. And the decision on what to do has weighed heavily on me. Everyone who knows me, knows my dogs and cats are like my children. My family, because they’ve all I’ve ever had.

And the fact, Taiga has to go through this and the chance I might not be able to save her cuts me harder than I hate to admit. I know the upset and pain I feel in my heart right now probably has nothing on what she is going through right now. And I absolutely hate that I can’t wave my hand and fix it for her.

I know, things are hard for everyone but if you could share or anything I’d be very grateful. I absolutely hate it’s come to this, but I love her too much to not try and do everything I can to help her.

But here is a link to the go fund me for my Dog Taiga. I didn’t wish to use a picture of her, with her current condition as quite frankly it’s very sore to look at.

The best way to attract RP contacts is to show interest in other RPers‘ content.

You don’t have to change your lore-bendy or lore-breaky characters to better fit the lore. You don’t have to change your character’s race. You don’t have to stop RPing a concept you like. You don’t have to start formatting the hell out of your posts. You don’t have to be a great artist. You don’t have to create kick-ass graphics. You don’t have to play a popular NPC.

You have to give as much as, or more than, you take.

You have to reblog other folks’ content. You have to send other people asks. You have to reach out. You have to give those compliments you’ve been wanting to give. You have to be present.

Sitting back, keeping to yourself, posting negative scribes about how nobody cares – those things don’t do anything to get you what you’re looking for and absolutely negatively impact your search for more RP.

Get out there. Start small. Follow a few new blogs, ask one question, reblog one story. Use your server/community tags when posting new stuff.

You can do it. The only thing stopping you is you.

No one’s ever died or suffered from extreme duress from being unable to use the word ‘futa’ or ‘trap’ for their one-handed ERP material.

But the Trans Panic Defense has been used successfully in court as recently as 2013. The word “trap” is hurtful, because so many trans women have been murdered under the idea that they have tricked/“trapped” cis straight men into having sex with them. Those men claim to “fly into a blind rage” when they realise they’ve either had sex with or flirted with a trans woman and kill another human being.

‘Futa/futanari’ literally translates to ‘hermaphrodite’ which is considered offensive by actual Intersex people. 

Full hermaphroditism (aka male and female genitalia both exist and fully functional) doesn’t happen in human beings - just in plants and certain animals - so calling human beings hermaphrodite is stigmatizing and misleading.  They’re people - not a banana slug.

A lot of us used those words casually as kids, because they were just tossed around so frequently in the past, especially those of us who were teenagers in the early 2000′s.  But we’re fucking adults now.

When someone tells you “This is hurtful to me, because of my life experience and I would like you to stop.” You just stop. That’s it. It’s that easy.

To you, it’s a word for your material to help you jack-off into a sock.  

For them it’s a reminder of pain or the fact that some shitfuck could claim they ‘flew into a blind rage” to get lesser sentence after beating you to death.  It won’t destroy the quality of your life to not use it, but it can help better someone else’s not to have to see it anymore.

However for all those people who are doubtlessly going to be digging their heels in at the thought of being morally decent, as well as people who want to be understanding but have questions regarding the matter, I highly recommend watching Natalie Wyn’s video on the matter.

While Wyn takes the stance of ‘shit posting to the moral high ground’ in her video essay; her videos have had perhaps the best success rate at being the first bridge that helps people - particularly cis people - understand why all of this matters. Even though it isn’t always comfortable to watch or dissect. .

The title itself is also uncomfortable I know, but in that vein of ‘shit posting to the moral high ground’, Wyn states within the video that the purpose of the reactionary title was to hijack the conversation. Which actually worked, because if you look up ‘are traps gay’ on google her video is now the first search result. Rather than some edgelord think piece that seeks to mock rather than inform and correct. It’s not absolution for using the slur, but I feel the thought process behind it had good intentions.

Lastly, I will provide a soft trigger warning however on top of the one that Natalie includes at the beginning of the essay. She shows clips of transphobic bigots, discusses the death of a transwoman due to transpanic, and makes a point of using uncomfortable terminology for the purpose of discussion and mocking it’s usage. However if you don’t want your day ruined by dealing with clips of alt-right propaganda and Natalie having to use the word ‘trap’ and other slurs to address how harmful they are, I would avoid the video.

ContraPoints is a super solid fucking youtube channel and also hilarious/charming so highly recommend.

I wanted to update my prices that will carry into next year as well as the two options I’ve kinda been having around to people who ask if I’m open. As of right now I’m taking 4 slots only. Once those are done then I’ll open more. I’m trying not to give myself an overload, especially if I start working soon.

Sketch with Color Pop Option, prices listed above. The “rules” for this are you get at least two color options for a “pop”. If your character has darker skin (like Agni above) the monochrome color to compensate does not count for your color option. You still get two! 

Full Color Option, prices listed above. Keep in mind these aren’t super detailed shading or things like that, it’s mostly simple things here and there. You’ll get a simple background of usually a single tone shade to go with this unless stated otherwise. 

Ornate tattoos, jewelry or extreme detail will have an additional $5 charge, depending on the intensity. 

I will do: Any game chars (ie, FFXIV, WoW, BnS, etc) Original characters Humans with animal characteristics (ie cat girls/boys, etc)
