it's legitimately fucked how people view labor in the modern age. i'm Happy stocking shelves, why does that mean i shouldn't make enough money to live? don't you think we should be cultivating a workforce that's happy to do the things they want? do you want a doctor who's only working for his paycheck & not out of an actual urge to help others? do you want the garbagemen who keep your city clean to live impoverished because they're not bootstrapping hard enough? every single american institution is working backwards to solve problems that could easily be solved with compassion and empathy

Things I learned from musicals

Don't be gay in Indiana.

Say no (especially to "this")

Stop. (Especially when it comes to tattoos, alcohol, boys, and sending pictures).

Do a background check on your mailman boyfriend (he could be a Nazi)

Don't say his name (don't make deal with a demon straight from hell)

Don't do drugs from Japan.

There are giants in the sky and it was his her fault.

Good deeds don't go unpunished.

Make pie = get men

Don't lie about having friends don't betray your friends for a dead guy you didn't really know

If you see your dead son, go to therapy not a psychopharmacologist

If he says he would die for you... He might be serious.

Don't live in a fantasy world when your best friend is dying if tuberculosis.

A smile completes a wardrobe.

Most men have it coming.

You have to kiss a fish to be a citizen of Newfoundland.

DONT MAKE A DEAL WITH HADES IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY

Don't trust men named Henry.

I saw Waitress 3 times when it was originally on Broadway. So when I heard it was coming back for a limited run, I knew I had to see it at some point. This is the first Broadway show I’ve sat in the front row for, and it was awesome seeing the show unobstructed by other people’s heads. I’ve seen several casts, and this one was probably my favorite. It was nice to see Joshua Henry return to Broadway in this. And Ciara Renée is just incredible. Watching someone from my hometown being so successful in her own career really inspired me. I laughed, I cried, I ate some pie. 🥧 The diner’s closing on January 9th. If you can, I’d highly recommend going to see this incredible cast.

seeing this show from the 5th row was absolutely worth the 6 month wait. the costumes (OMG THE COSTUMES!!!!), the ladies in waiting, the queens, the energy in the room. i loved being a part of it all. my sister and i got acknowledged by aragon, howard, and seymour throughout the show which was pretty cool. this show was everything i could’ve hoped for - female empowerment, hilarious, filled with bop after bop, incredible vocals/dancing etc. i couldn’t ask for a better birthday weekend and first show back to broadway.

i loved the outfit i went to the show in. i rhinestoned these boots for my halloween costume. it took me 3 days, but i’m very proud of them.
