anthony bridgerton is my favorite brand of male character. he’s a whore with a tragic past and a fear of love. his crimes? being sexy and making terrible choices. and to top it off he’s got eldest sibling disorder. he’s literally perfect.

Jane Austen really said 'I respect the "I can fix him" movement but that's just not me. He'll fix himself if knows what's good for him' and that's why her works are still calling the shots today.

winter dark academia

- waking up to cold mornings and condensation on your windows

- brewing a cup of hot coffee while reading a book

- wearing cozy sweaters and cardigans to stay warm

- draping your favorite long coat over your shoulders to create a mysterious silhouette

- stepping through heavy, packed snow as you walk to your morning class

- watching the glistening trees, pausing your podcast to admire them in their full glory

- combing your fingers through your hair to remove the falling snowflakes

- sipping hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire, turning the pages in your book leisurely

- stringing fairy lights to brighten up a dark room

- practicing your instrument in the evening, pretending to play at night - but the sun just sets early, but that’s not important

- relishing the long, dark hours to keep focused on your work

- listening to the quiet tones of claire de lune as you scribble through your essay

dress up just to study, chew on the caps of your highlighters while you scribble notes in the margins of your books, put your feet up on your desk and drink cinnamon tea with too much sugar, learn calligraphy and write your favorite quotes on pages of old books and tape them to your wall, drink wine and read in the bath and use that bathbomb you keep forgetting is in your cabinet, play your favorite music play classical music play music from the 20s and dance down your hallway just because, call your friends and read aloud like each word is the most important one on the page, see if you can light enough candles to not need to use a lamp and open your window even though it’s cold, go for a walk and see if you can take a turn you haven’t taken before, live life as a challenge of how fun and dramatic a tiny world can be

Hozier is like a romantic era poet who got spit through a wormhole into our time and just started making music.

academia aesthetics by university major

Literature

Losing yourself in whimsy, drifting somewhere parallel to reality. Passionate, frenzied writing in the heart of the night. Drinking the moonlight. Love letters lost between moments. Birdsong. Quiet looks, filled with meaning. Opinions you don’t speak out loud. Chopin’s Nocturnes.

Classics

A glint in the eye, like they know something you don’t. Books in different languages, scattered across every surface. Red wine, and blood, and secrets. Spirits stirred by the glorious weight of eras past, tongue heavy with the words of dead men. Marble busts of Greek philosophers. Reality dulling against the music of myth.

Philosophy

Milky tea and introspective mornings. Sun filtering gently into a quiet room. Reading in nature, sinking into the sound of the wind, birds or water. Margins filled with annotations. Long, grand hallways and the echo of footsteps. Conversations that last for hours, but feel like minutes.

Sciences

Notebooks filled with scattered calculations, terms, and theories, partnered with small pieces of flora and miscellaneous clippings. ‘Eureka’ moments. Wild eyes and chewed lips. Lying awake all night, your head buzzing with ideas. Piles of meticulous notes. Hunching over desks in dim lamplight. The feeling of puzzle pieces fitting together. The smallness of humanity, and the vastness of existance.

Fine Art/Art History

Huge, baroque ballrooms with renaissance paintings on the ceilings. Staring up at them until the real world dissolves and the images spin around you. Early spring. Foxes in the snow. Classical music. Vintage teacups, and slow blinks. Laughter covered by fingers. Dancing where no-one can see you.

Political Science

Fast strides and black coffee. Enthusiastic debates with peers and discussions with professors. Pages and pages of notes, scrawled so hastily they’re almost illegible. Running through the night, laughing with friends and going places you shouldn’t. An ambiguous smile from across the room.

History

Grand old buildings, shadowed with age and brimming with secrets. Old, rusty daggers. Tentative hands and determined eyes. Fingers stained with nicotine and ink. Old books and letters, shrouded in dust, that no-one’s read in a hundred years. Touching the pages, and understanding what it was to be alive in another time, seeing what they saw and feeling what they felt.

celestial objects 🌕✨

moon: cold fingers, silver accessories and long coats, hiding in libraries as snow falls, secretive smiles, quiet homesickness for another world, appears calm but their still waters runs deep, knows you better than yourself

venus: ink-smudged hands, hiding fragments of themselves in poetry or stories, tiredness from noticing everything, birdsong after a sleepless night, romanticizing the unbearable, obsessed with meanings and signs

stars: bright eyes, blue skies and pools of honey, humming along to the radio, making up words as they go, sleepy car-rides home, unspoken words, deep comfort during golden hour, glittering jewelry, noticing how a smile forms

I love that word. Forever. I love that forever doesn't exist, but we have a word for it anyway, and use it all the time. It's beautiful and doomed.

ten ways to say i love you (literature edition)

1. i will have to tell you; you have bewitched me body and soul.

2. all my heart is yours sir: it belongs to you; and with you it would remain, were fate to exile me from your presence forever.

3. ill follow you and make heaven out of hell, and ill die by your hand, which i love so well.

4. ive come here with no expectations, only to profess, now that I am at liberty to do so, that my heart is, and always will be, yours.

5. you pierced my soul. i am half agony, half hope.

6. you are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person i have ever known—and even that is an understatement.

7. id cut up my heart for you to wear it if you wanted

8. i would rather spend one life time with you, than face all of the ages of the world alone.

9. i see you everywhere, in the stars, in the river; to me you’re everything that exists; the reality of everything

10. i wish you to know that you have been the last dream of my souls
