Evil Sapphyre's Playground

I'm a writer and a gamer. BioWare destroys my soul. Always and forever it seems. Happily married but SO accepts that I obsess over fictional men, both the ones I write and the ones I romance in game.

So one of my oldest and dearest friends ended up having emergency surgery last week. He’s out of PTO, a public servant, and he may only be able to get back to work next week.

If anyone can help, please do. Even if it’s just sharing.

So, I had a big first with my son yesterday. We were driving home from daycare, and he was having a little snack as usual. He’s in a great mood, and just swinging his legs in his car seat as he eats.

We pull up to the house, and as we’re saying goodbye to a friend who is currently in the hospital, I hear him suddenly due his mumble speak, where he’s shifted into a dour mood and is probably pouting. I get over to the door to let him out, but I decide to find out what’s wrong first.

“Joey said I couldn’t be a lion eater .”

Now, what is a lion eater? I have no clue. Is that what he meant? Well, when I tried line reader, he said no. But rather than focus on what word he was saying, I focused on the fact that Joey (not the kid’s real name) is telling my kid what he can and cannot be. I told my son that he can be whatever he wants to be, that my son is the only one who can decide on what he can be.

My son then breaks out into a huge smile, tears in his eyes, and tells me “Mommy, you make me so happy and so sad.”

And of course, that warmed my heart.

I never did find out what he meant with that phrase.

Both my 3 year old and my mom have watched me play a bit. My son has decided that the dinosaur people (Krogan) are his favorite. My mom can’t decide between Volus, Hanar, or Turians.

The siren’s call of Mass Effect has lured me back. Here is Infiltrator, Shae Shepard, Spacer/Ruthless, who will do her best to do the right thing, but will sacrifice as needed to get the job done.

Her parents were War Heroes, and she’s doing her best to live up to the family name.

It took… like four months. But I finally beat my first game of BG3.

Thank you, dearest Jilly, for the adventure. ❤️
