You guys are some of the best people I’ve ever met. Really. I have never known a more loving and open community - fandom or otherwise. You’ve filled a void that I didn’t know how to fill myself. You’re the best sort of strange, pervy, and morbid that matched up with my own messed up head. Even for people like me who don’t say much, because I never had much confidence when talking in groups (even “talking”), you have been the support I needed. Thank you.
Fannibal Problem #37: when you watch another show and suddenly remember that you are actually supposed to root for the good guys.
Jack Crawford insured that I would never be able to root for him the instant he touched Will Graham’s glasses.
Gestures like that had me considering him not a good guy from the beginning. Sure he’s not a serial killer, but the shit he puts people through, especially but not restricted to Will, and his utter disregard for other people’s personal boundaries, opinions, and fears means to me he just can’t be classified as “good”. In fact, my opinion from the beginning has been that the only good guys in the show were: Margot, Alana, Beverly, and maaaybe Price and Zeller although I think of them as more neutral. (Alana does get extremely petty and shows lake of insight with Hannibal while he‘s imprisoned, but in that specific case I don’t think it’s actually enough to revoke her “good guy” status.) and I was definitely rooting for those five characters. I was just rooting for them in addition to the “bad guys”. (Some of them anyway. Like as fun as it is to watch Freddie Lounds, I never rooted for her.)
Jack Crawford is Severus Snape. Doing the right thing, but a total dick about it, and not a good person.
Completely self-indulgent Hannigram fluff, where Hannibal gets Will a puppy whose name sounds like “Hannibal,” in the hopes that he can listen to Will sweet-talk the puppy and pretend Will is talking to him. But also he got her because she’s feisty. Puppies love! to! bite!
Fun fact for those who haven’t read Hannibal Rising! Hannibal LOVES animals! He would totally be a doting dog-parent with Will! My favourite part of the book is when baby-Hannibal straight up tries to MURDER someone for throwing a rock at a gosling.

not to sound gay but anyone else feels like the hannibal fandom is somehow your final destination? like, the end of the line? like…you’ve been in so many fandoms over the years, you shipped so many characters together, you met so many awesome people. and then you suddenly stumbled across hannibal and everything is just…bitch idk, different? like hear me out, i had many obsessions in my life, I’ve loved so many fictional characters in the past years but there’s nothing like hannibal. not to be fake deep but I’ve never felt anything like i feel hannibal. most importantly though, I’ve been in so many fandoms before but only hannibal feels like home. it honest to god feels like family to me. it just feels right to be here, and when i say this feels like my “final destination” it’s because i can’t imagine myself loving any other fictional world like i love the one bryan fuller gave us, and i certainly can’t remember feeling so much like i am part of something like i feel I’m a part of the fannibal family. it’s a great feeling, you know. i wonder if anyone else out there feels the same

I’ve always been consumed by fandoms. If I get into something, I feel compelled to consume everything that I can. All the books, all the episodes, all of the fanworks, every spin off series. And I stay that way for extended periods of time. That includes Hannibal. But post Hannibal, when I started watching Dr. Who, I don’t feel so urgent about it. I’m not going to watch the whole thing from Doctor 1. I’m more settled.
I’m still going get involved in other fandoms, to the extent that I get involved in anything, but I think Hannibal...tamed me. It feels small enough to be family, but large enough to have all the delightfully crazy people that make it so brilliant. I’ll have other fandoms, but they’ll never have me the way Hannibal does.

If you wish to take part in any fandom, you need to accept and respect these three laws.
If you aren’t able to do that, then you need to realise that your actions are making fandom unsafe for creators. That you are stifling creativity.
Like vaccination, fandom only works if everyone respects these rules. Creators need to be free to make their fanart, fanfics and all other content without fear of being harassed or concern-trolled for their creative choices, no matter whether you happen to like that content or not.
The First Law of Fandom
Don’t Like; Don’t Read (DL;DR)
It is up to you what you see online. It is not anyone else’s place to tell you what you should or should not consume in terms of content; it is not up to anyone else to police the internet so that you do not see things you do not like. At the same time, it is not up to YOU to police fandom to protect yourself or anyone else, real or hypothetical.
There are tools out there to help protect you if you have triggers or squicks. Learn to use them, and to take care of your own mental health. If you are consuming fan-made content and you find that you are disliking it - STOP.
The Second Law of Fandom
Your Kink Is Not My Kink (YKINMK)
Simply put, this means that everyone likes different things. It’s not up to you to determine what creators are allowed to create. It’s not up to you to police fandom.
If you don’t like something, you can post meta about it or create contrarian content yourself, seek to convert other fans to your way of thinking.
But you have no right to say to any creator “I do not like this, therefore you should not create it. Nobody should like this. It should not exist.”
It’s not up to you to decide what other people are allowed to like or not like, to create or not to create. That’s censorship. Don’t do it.
The Third Law of Fandom
Ship And Let Ship (SALS)
Much (though not all) fandom is about shipping. There are as many possible ships as there are fans, maybe more. You may have an OTP (One True Pairing), you may have a NOTP, that pairing that makes you want to barf at the very thought of its existence.
It’s not up to you to police ships or to determine what other people are allowed to ship. Just because you find that one particular ship problematic or disgusting, does not mean that other people are not allowed to explore its possibilities in their fanworks.
You are free to create contrarian content, to write meta about why a particular ship is repulsive, to discuss it endlessly on your private blog with like-minded persons.
It is not appropriate to harass creators about their ships, it is not appropriate to demand they do not create any more fanworks about those ships, or that they create fanwork only in a manner that you deem appropriate.
These three laws add up to the following:
You are not paying for fanworks content, and you have no rights to it other than to choose to consume it, or not consume it. If you do choose to consume it, do not then attack the creator if it wasn’t to your taste. That’s the height of bad manners.
Be courteous in fandom. It makes the whole experience better for all of us.
Petition to add ‘If you didn’t create it, don’t take it.’
Meaning don’t repost other people’s art on your Tumblr/Instagram etc, don’t use art for your banner/icon/background without permission
Don’t rewrite someone else’s fic with different names
Don’t take someone’s art/fic and show it to the subject of that art/fic without the creators permission

Activity on all my blogs are down, and I can’t imagine what OC/art blogs who use this media platform to help support themselves are dealing with.
Activity for many blogs is near stagnant whereas before this update we had moderate to high levels of activity. Stop letting staff tell you what you’d like to see, if you didn’t appreciate the stuff a blog put out you could just unfollow them yourself. Tumblr is essentially assuming they know what you’d like to see over preferences you’ve already chosen for yourself.
I can reblog and post instructions about how to turn it off and why every day but the truth is some people won’t notice, you won’t see it because my stuff will be pushed to the bottom, or some people just don’t want to spend the three seconds it takes to do it.

Sooooo. I may or may not have spent the last ten minutes in a catatonic state dwelling on how much Hannibal and Will’s physical and mental synchronicity subliminally accentuates their potential in regards to sex. These two men are so completely entwined emotionally that more or less everything they do in each other’s presence is synchronised to some degree. They move in complete tandem, they communicate almost telepathically, they even fucking eat and drink at the same time.

Many of you probably didn’t see so much of content on here for the last months (and neither on my writing account, @nalyras) simply because I was so utterly and totally busy with @radiance-anthology and the resulting workload that my own Tumblr… wasn’t a priority. Sorry^^.
Anyways, here we are, ~10 months later and Radiance is (almost) done now.
