Friend and I are debating whether something is common knowledge or not.

I feel like asking Tumblr specifically if they're aware of a myth that revolves around romantic notions of sacrificing freedom and trusting the person you love to not abuse your trust and being so devoted to someone you'll hand over the most precious thing you own and also hot naked ladies is not a good test of something being common knowledge.

I love selkie myths so much! Especially modern takes on selkies that are so romantic and not abusive like the older stories and myths are.

Would this be an ok place to push my Selkie x werewolf sapphic romance that I wrote? It's available on itch.io It's a short story taking place in a small town called Seakiss.

I rewatched The Avatar and the Fire Lord a few days ago, and god, what a good episode. Revealing that Zuko is a descendant of both Sozin and Roku was a genius move (and that's not even getting into the Zuko/Aang parallels of it all). But there's something the show doesn't seem to think of, and that I haven't seen anyone in the fandom discuss either — the fact that Zuko isn't the only one descendant from both these men. Azula is, too.

The conclusion of this story that Iroh presents to Zuko at the end of the episode is that he alone — because of his lineage from both men the war was started from — is uniquely capable of cleansing the sins of his family and the fire nation and bringing peace to the world. But, the thing is, there's two sides of this conflict, and therefor two sides to its legacy. The external and the personal. The legacy of the external is the war, but the legacy of the personal is the sibling rivalries that kept repeating through generations of the royal family.

Though Roku and Sozin were not actually related, they were childhood friends as close as siblings and fucking shared a birthday, so the symbolism works. We know very little about Azulon's childhood or if he even had any direct sibling rivalries like this at all, but from what I can find on his wiki page, we know that Sozin favoured him over "other family" (I'm assuming his siblings). What we know very well, however, is what happened in the next generation between Iroh and Ozai. We know Azulon favoured Iroh over Ozai, and that this likely is the initial source of their hatred for each other, which resulted in perhaps the worst sibling rivalry of them all (what with the indirect patricide and throne stealing).

Then we go on to Zuko and Azula, whose upbringing kept going in the same patterns, but the key difference is them being the first ones to both be descendant from the men who started it all. If Zuko having this lineage makes him uniquely capable of ending the cycle of war in his country and restoring balance to the world, shouldn't that mean that both he and Azula having this lineage makes them uniquely capable of ending the cycle of brutal sibling rivalries and restoring balance to their family?

This conclusion I've presented seems to fit perfectly with the lesson Aang draws from the same story as well:

"Roku was just as much Fire Nation as Sozin was, right? If anything, their story proves that anyone's capable of great good and great evil. Everyone, even the Fire Lord and the Fire Nation, have to be treated like they're worth giving a chance."

I know this is supposed to be foreshadowing to Aang refusing to kill Ozai later, but I can't help but think it's even more applicable to fourteen year old Azula. It's really so ironic that the show runners thought Azula deserved what she got when their own show seems to be telling them that Zuko mending his relationship with her is what he ultimately should've done.

But, then again... that does sort of make her the perfect tragedy.

The Wayne Enterprises employee in charge of writing the OS for the entire Watchtower was in over his head. So he outsourced.

The actual writer of that code was one Tucker Too Fine Foley, who did it for $2k and some pizza.

This isn't a problem until there's a major software issue that the on paper head programmer can't solve, because he never wrote anything in the OS.

Told y'all I'd be back with more Duke. Today I demonstrate how Duke is as much of a chaos gremlin as the rest of them. Case in point:

Danny as Duke's son

Duke is getting ready to end his patrol when he hears crying coming from an alley. He goes to investigate and quickly finds a baby tucked away in a corner. The first thing Duke notices about this baby is the soft green glow around him (so either a meta or something else got it). The second thing he notices is how this baby fits in perfectly with the rest of his brothers. This quickly sparks an idea in Duke's mind.

There's no way he's putting a meta baby in the Gotham foster system. He might as well just hand the poor guy to the traffickers at that point. Instead, Duke decides to play a prank on his family while giving this baby a safe home at the same time.

The prank is simple, he's going to take care of the baby as if nothing is out of the ordinary. If anyone asks, he's gonna pretend it's someone else's secret love child that he's just babysitting. Given that the Wayne's have never heard of the term communication, Duke imagines it's going to take painfully long for everyone to realize the truth. The only people he's telling are Alfred and Barbara because let's be honest, there's no he'd be able to keep the truth from those two. Plus a little help from them will really help sell everything. Let the prank begin!

Finally found some kind of time to draw and I'm throwing this Ember McLain at you people because we all love Ember.

On the other hand I saw someone writing about a DCDP au about Ember having been a teen vigilante from Gotham that none of the mentors could handle and the spice and the intrigue got immediately clocked.

I hope I can be allowed more time to myself soon so I can continue drawing her and other characters more honestly.

He'd been flying above Metropolis.

Like a good ghost! Doing nothing but relax! Enjoying the weather, really.

It was so cool, Superman came up to him, they talked even! Superman was very, very, uncomfortable when Danny mentioned he was kinda dead.

It was really awesome.

Yeah, the keypoint being was.

Now? Now he is in Superman's arms, very much alive after being hit by a stray beam from Lex Luthors newest invention, quite literally hit from the sky when he didn't expect it and out of f reflex turned back human.

"I'm... alive?" He jokes weakly, smiling awkwardly at Superman's stare.

Danny considered this awkward.

Clark was processing the fact Lex Luthor somehow managed to bring back someone from death, his hands now full of said miracle and—

Shit, does the kid even have family left? What's he going to tell Lois!?

"Bruce!" Clark gasped, scandalized.

Sure, he knew Barry would laugh, and Hal would make a mocking comment. But Bruce? Batman? The man whose little half grins Superman could count on one hand over their decade of camaraderie and friendship was giggling at Superman's misfortune.

"Superman, stop having kids with your arch nemesis challenge." Robin said, whispering at a volume totally audible to even human ears.

Bruce sobered, faster than anyone else, "Do we really need to break in to Lex's tower to steal the 'death' ray?"

Superman goggled, "He built a death ray, Bruce, even without Danny's side effect we need to stop him!"

"Couldn't you just claim it as part of the...child support?" Bruce suggested.

Kon took a step forward, looking pensive, "Is he my older brother or younger?"

"Can we focus?!"
