any other eldest sisters watch “after life” and hear buffy say “i was finished. complete.” and feel your stomach turn and your blood go cold because hasn’t she given enough??? the hellmouth ripped her childhood from her fingers and she fell in line. she made every sacrifice the world demanded of her in service of everyone but herself. she buried her mother and raised her little sister and comforted her friends and put on a brave face and after all that there was no space for HER grief, for HER mourning, and nobody seemed to notice or care. she made a final choice to make the ultimate sacrifice and was rewarded with the thing her life never afforded her: rest. relief. safety. and her “friends” ripped her back because they weren’t done wringing her dry.
and even then, in her ultimate agony, she puts them first.
anyway being the eldest daughter is cool, i get dibs on the passenger seat most of the time.

Are you kidding me? Pacific Rim 100% predicted this kind of thing. That’s literally what the Pacific Perimeter Program was about. Once the PPDC decided fighting kaiju was too expensive, they just gave up and chose to ignore the problem by putting it behind a big wall. Pacific Rim is literally about the people who were abandoned by the institutions that were supposed to protect them and kept on trying anyway.

something I like about lisa swallows is that she is so believably 18 years old. she misses her mom and her old school. she insults her sister behind her back but doesn't hesitate to protect her. she sings along to songs she doesn't completely remember the words to. she's awkward and self-absorbed and kind of pretentious. she's impulsive and idealistic and a hopeless romantic. I love her
