Not this year, I'm afraid! All three of us mods are currently super busy this year, so we wouldn't be able to devote our full attention to running the event.
Apologies to those interested! But we wouldn't want to disappoint or waste anyone's time if we can't also give the event our full attention.

Through experiences with refugees, soldiers, other broken families, and a little lost droid named Beezer, Matt will decide where he thinks he best belongs in this strange new world he’s found himself in.

I was partnered with the amazing @dylogger who, for the reverse bang, had the sketch of Matt fixing Beezer up and I LOVED the idea of the friendship the two of them could have.
It was a blast working with Dylogger, and I loved how in sync we were with the ideas and what we wanted for the story.
If you love Matt, Beezer, shenanigans and a little bit of a coming of age theme, you’re going to love this fic!

We've been through five months and three seasons together, but we finally reached the moment we were all working for! At long last, the final collaborations for the 2018 Voltron Gen Mini Bang have all been shared!
A huge thank you to all of our participants. A lot of love and effort went into making these works, and we're so glad to finally share them all with the fandom. A big round of applause for everyone!
The three of us mods want to personally thank everyone for their effort, and for participating in our event, whether you were here since the start or stepped in to help out down the line. It definitely would not have been possible without you. We're happy to have brought this event together for another year!

My contribution to the @voltrongenminibang!! I was partnered with the amazing, incredibly talented @bladesofmimosa , who wrote a stunning fic titled “blue-eyed barbaros” featuring Lance and Allura being absolutely badass. It is WONDERFUL beyond words, and I’m honored to have such a fanfiction come out of my original rambling mess of a summary!! I honestly can’t recommend it enough.
I tried a new(ish) art style with this, and I had tons of fun creating it if nothing else- not to mention I had a great time with the Bang itself!! My endless thanks and appreciation to the brilliant Mods for not only creating such an awesome project, but for their endless assistance and their time!

My fic for the @voltrongenminibang! This year, I worked with the lovely @sagelynaive, whose artwork is here. Shout out to her for some great art, for pushing me to write some Lotor, and for letting me go hog wild with the plot once I got going.
Summary:
After Allura and Lotor’s trip to Oriande, Lance tries to give Lotor a chance and do a little bonding. When a freak power surge in the Castle turns their normal day of video gaming into a trip into a brand new game they’ve never played before, the bonding gets accelerated.
I’m so happy to show you guys my piece for @voltrongenminibang 2018! This year was a blast!
I had the great fortune to be paired up with the wonderful @hufflepirate, who wrote a killer fic based on this drawing. Huffle turned it into something way cooler than I could ever have come up with. You can read that fic here (link is on the way)!

Title: blue-eyed barbaros Characters: lance & allura Rating: T for violence, allusions to death
Summary: It’s an interplanetary diplomatic mission for the Coalition. Also known as a chance for Allura and Lance to further explore their blossoming partnership. It doesn’t go the way they planned though.
Or: The Galra are trying to kill them. Allura just wants to blow shit up. Lance learns how much he’s willing to lose in this war.

Art for my Voltron Gen Reverse Mini-Bang prompt! I trialled out some inks on it, and it’s probably the boldest trad art I’ve done yet!
@fire-pilot took my prompt and pulled together a story out of it. Thank you to them, and thank you to @butteredonions, @velkynkarma and @bosstoaster for hosting this event!
Rating: Teen Characters: Gen, Shiro, Keith, Team Warnings: Body horror, non-consensual body modification
Summary: When Shiro is taken from his job as a security guard and goes missing for a year, the team will stop at nothing to get him back. They finally find him, but after a year as an unwilling subject in Haggar’s experiments, he’s not the same person they remember. Written for the @voltrongenminibang
Excerpt: It’s been a full year now since the last time any of them saw Shiro. The last time Keith had seen him, he’d given a half-hearted wave as Shiro sprinted out the door to make it to his night shift at Allura’s lab, not even bothering to look up.
The last real lead they’d had was when Pidge found Honerva—Haggar—4 months ago. It had seemed so promising at the time.
Now all it is is another dead end.
Keith balls his hands into fists and presses them against his eyes, “There has to be something that we’re missing!”
He can’t be dead.
He can’t be.
Keith refuses to believe that he’s dead.

ONCE IN MY LIFE

Of course, Matt thinks, when the sword runs through his gut and twists there, blood squelching louder than the pain. Of course this is how this mission’s going to go. It’s just him, Hunk, and Pidge, and they’ve got no lions and no backup until they hit the rendezvous point. So of course, of course, this—right when he’s the responsible party—this is when Matt gets stabbed.
While exploring a long-abandoned world, the paladins accidentally trip one of the planet’s dormant defense systems. Separated, Shiro and Keith have to wait and watch, and hope for the best while Lance, Pidge and Hunk try to save the day without their leaders.
Excerpt:
“Damnit!” Keith spun on his heel and stalked a few paces from the barrier. “I knew we shouldn’t have split up. I should have kept an eye on Hunk. I shouldn’t have let Lance run off like that.”
“No one anticipated this happening.” Shiro sighed as the paladins disappeared into the trees. “We’ll just have to trust them to handle this.”
Keith gave his friend a sideways glance.
“We’re going to keep looking for another solution, of course,” Shiro said. “And Allura and Coran. But for now, until we get that shield down, I’m out of ideas.”
“We’re all gonna die,” Keith said.

For the past few months I’ve been working on my piece for the @voltrongenminibang, and I’m excited to finally share it!
I’ve had the pleasure of working with @onemuseleft, whose fantastic fic based on this drawing can be found here (tumblr) and here (ao3)
Rating: Gen, mild violence Characters: Keith, Lance & Hunk centric, also featuring Pidge and Allura
Summary: Lance and Hunk’s home is dying. Something dark is slowly poisoning the land, and a drought holds the savanna in a suffocating grip. Alongside their lion companions, they left their tribe in search of the source of the grim changes their world was undergoing. Instead, they stumble across an unfamiliar tribesman half-drowned in the river; a warrior from the mountains, wearing the symbol of Marmora and carrying a map that claims to lead to the lost city of Altea. But surely Altea was just a myth; a simple fireside story with as much truth to it as the stranger’s delirious ramblings about witches, and a Lion Goddess. Little do they know that Altea- more specifically, the powerful secrets hidden at the core of its ruins- could hold the answers they’ve been looking for. Fate was pulling them all, entwined, towards a shared destiny that may save their dying land. But unbeknown to Hunk and Lance, a dark force seeks to unravel the strings. And it has its sights set on one thing; their lions.
