Is it normal to cry after watching a movie you like because then all feeling of being alive is gone, you are yourself again and you remember that you yourself are terribly alone?
Around the World in 80 Days 1x06
Crowley: You're up to something, I can smell it. What are you planning? 🤨
Aziraphale: Wait and see. 😊
Crowley: Wait and see? Do you have any idea how irritating that is? 😒

I ran an Aliens rpg years back. But the players didn't KNOW it was an Aliens game until halfway through the first session.
They thought it was a sci-fi game but they also thought the monsters were going to be zombies.
Over a period of 2 hours they then proceeded to make EVERY Aliens movie cliche "mistake" known to man. Because at the time they all made sense.
The characters in a story don't know they're in a story or what kind of story it is.
They might think their in a romcom instead of a slasher movie. And if you're not in a slasher movie, why the fuck would you search through every closet in your house just because a cup mysteriously fell off a table in the dining room?
everything phileas fogg is doing here has me in shambles
really, Around The World in 80 Days has it all. an adorable interracial romance. healthy platonic friendship between a man and a woman. bullies getting what they deserve. appreciation of foreign cultures. exs parting on good terms without any grudges. a cast that isn’t just the same five BBC actors as usual. critique of British Empire colonialism. a hot air balloon. top-tier performances from all the cast. a Hans Zimmer soundtrack. David Tennant being emotionally vulnerable and getting his shirt ripped open

Bonus: compare with :)
what do you think, the goddess venus?
I miss the days when, no matter how slow your internet was, if you paused any video and let it buffer long enough, you could watch it uninterrupted
It's so important to keep following people even when they stop posting things ypu like or find interesting. It's builds character to see the two guys from top gun holding eachother gently and full of lust. I've never watched Top Gun. but the one user who keeps putting fanart of tom cruise and his mustached male lover on my dash is essential to my tumblr ecosystem. biodiversity, if you will
I love the implication in Around the World in 80 Days (2021) that a woman in New York wrote a letter, put a stamp on it, and adressed it to "Coward" and it got correctly delivered to her ex-boyfriend in London.
Which - fair if you know Phileas Fogg but it goes to show that, what's really impressive about this universe isn't the Hot Air Balloons or magical dry-wood rafts that burn perfectly even after having been out in the rain for hours, but the sheer determination and dutifulness of the international postal service.
