Goodbye
There’s blood. Lots and lots of blood and it’s yours.
Just an hour ago you were laughing and making jokes with the group and now you were on the floor bleeding out, the bodies of zeros scattered all around you.
The group was making their way to the drop off point for Murphy when a bunch of zeros ambushed you. As always things escalated and shots were fired, many of the zeros died and a few managed to get away. The rest of the group was okay but you were the only one that had gotten shot.
“Is everybody okay?” Warren asks.
Everybody’s eyes scan the area, 10k immediately turned your way to make sure you were fine. His eyes immediately get wide when he sees you clutching your stomach, blood covering your hands.
“No..” he drops his gun “NO!” he runs to you and grabs you before you can collapse. “y/n no...”
Warren and the rest run towards you. “Doc?”
Doc examines you quickly but in the end shakes his head. “She’s bleeding out, bullet must’ve hit an artery. I can’t do anything and she won’t make it to the drop off point, at the rate she’s bleeding she only has a few minutes.”
“Doc please.” 10k begs. “Please, somebody, anybody. Murphy..”
“10k.” you gulp “10k, it’s alright, it’s okay.”
He leans his forehead against yours “please don’t leave me.”
“hey, you got this. You don’t need me, you’ve done so well without me and you’re only going to do even better now.” tears stream down your face. “don’t get all emo for me and distance yourself from them, you’ll need them. make sure to eat if you can, don’t be stupid and starve because you’ll need your strength.
Don’t be a hero. Seriously, don’t do anything stupid and die before you hit 10 thousand, matter of fact don’t die at all.”
“Doc, Addy, Warren... thank you for everything. For giving my life meaning and making me a part of your family. Please take care of him and make sure he doesn’t lose himself, also please take care, all of you.”
“We will kiddo.” Doc says as he leans in to grab your hand. “See you in the next life.”
Addy crouches down beside you and strokes your hair. “Tell Mack I say hello if you see him. And thank you for being a kickass person I could rely on.”
You smile at her and turn your head to face Murphy and Vasquez. You nod at Vasquez as a form of a thank you and he nods back.
“Good luck Murphy, try not to be too much of a jackass.” you joke weakly.
“Anything I can do for you?” Asks warren.
“No, you’ve done enough for me. Thank you.” She smiles at you before walking away with the rest of the group and leaving you to your last moment with 10k.
“y/n please, I can carry you, We’re not far and I I’m sure the fancy lab people have a - “
“10k..... you have to let me go.” You pull something from your pocket, it’s your necklace “take care of this for me”
he leans in and presses his lips against yours, his tears falling onto your cheeks. he pulls away and leans his forehead against yours once again.
“I’m serious about everything I said baby boy, take care of yourself. I love you..” your eyes flutter shut.
10k doesn’t move from the position he’s in but instead grabs his knife and jams it onto the side of your face.
“i love you too” he whispers.
