Birthday Special (Jung Sungchan)
After you were caught staring at Sungchan for too long, your friend mocked you, "Someone has a crush." "Huh?" you muttered, glancing away.
Jung Sungchan. One of the most attractive gentlemen you've ever seen in your life. Being a tall hockey player with a beautiful face and being the best in his class is already a win-win situation for any female who has a crush on him. And you happen to be one of them. You, who is the photographer for your school newspaper and enjoys photographing his team, but especially him.
You sighed as you walked away from the rink. You've seen him practicing for their approaching league again.
"Hey, y/n, hurry up!" your friend shouted as she caught up to you. "Please just don't tell anyone about it," you said clearly enough for her to hear.
"Of course I won't!" she added, tugging your elbow, "but aren't you going to confess? I heard his single." "So you haven't heard from all the girls he rejected as well?" you replied, rolling your eyes.
"Well, hmm, maybe you'll have a chance? I saw him glancing at you earlier, and it's his birthday today. Make it special!" you paused at her words, "I'm not his type. He's probably thinking I'm some sort of weirdo stalker who keeps taking pictures of him," you concluded your conversation with a sad smile, and continued walking as if nothing had happened.
You were still at school after many hours, working hard editing the images you had taken earlier. "Ugh it's almost 11 what the fuck," you groaned, scratching your temple.
Walking home, you came to a halt at the school grounds because the moon was shining so brightly. So you took your camera and photographed the lovely scene. Because of it, you instantly remembered Sungchan. As it glows brightly, both provide you a wonderful mystery.
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" you almost dropped your camera after hearing a voice from behind you say, "Holy sh-" you didn't even have time to continue your remark after seeing that person.
"I apologize for scaring you," Sungchan said, but paused as he noticed your face turning red. "Uh- uhm," he said, unable to find the correct words, Sungchan extended his hand for you to shake.
"My name is Sungchan," he introduced himself. Your thoughts responded as if I didn't know.
Slowly, you take his hand in yours and shake it. "I'm y/n," you say slowly. Do I have to confess now, oh my God? Is this the end? So, what should I do now? You realized, panicked on the inside, that you had forgotten to stop shaking his hand.
"S-sorry," you apologized as you drew your hand back. He grinned and returned his gaze to the moon. "The moon is truly beautiful, isn't it?" he asked.
"Yes, really lovely," you said, but when you turned to face him, he was already staring at you.
"But nothing compares to the beauty of the person who constantly makes me smile," he remarked, making you look down and scratch your nape in bewilderment.
Sungchan blushed a little as he laughed at your reply. Isn't she completely clueless? Still staring at her, he pondered.
"Can I take you home?" he said, causing you to glance at him with surprise in your eyes, which was quickly replaced by a nod.
So, I'm taking advantage of this opportunity to confess. I'm just hoping he doesn't turn me down. Your thinking expressed a mixture of excitement and worry.
You didn't realize that he had already made the confession between the two of you.
Happy birthday to me. Sungchan smirked as he pondered.
“The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” Is basically a poetic term of saying “i love you” or confessing on someone. (more info on google lol) anyways.. happy birthday, Sungchan! 🤍
