I feel like nothing really pops into my head, but that might be because of my lack of Trope Knowledge. But my fics are all sfw, so anything outside that sphere would probably qualify.

WOOF this is hard!! I'm not sure. I know I have lines/themes/metaphors that I reuse but I can't think of anything that keeps popping up without my knowledge. I'd love to hear if you guys have noticed anything though! 😆

Good question. I'm not a fan of writing sweet things, really. I feel like the sweetest stuff is probably in the Zelink, Promptly fics. There's also Not my First Kiss but I mostly just try to forget that one exists lol.

I guess I would say if it makes somebody happy, whether that person is me or someone else. Sometimes when I write a fic I'm not happy with the end result, but then someone will leave a note saying how much they enjoyed it and that makes me glad I wrote it.

Numbers are fine, but my most popular fics are not the ones I consider my best work. Still, I'm glad people get some joy out of reading them! 🥰

I like the bit in Replaced in the broom closet. Link the Dog was ridiculously fun to write. I don't remember if I actually laughed but I was at least smiling. 😆

Yup! Many! Sometimes a catastrophic hardware failure kills em. Sometimes they get put on the backburner and then lose their luster. Sometimes they have structure or character issues I can't figure out and there's not enough momentum to carry it past them.

Margaret Atwood calls stepping away from stories that aren't working "putting it in the drawer." It just isn't the right time for it. The idea is always still there. Maybe in 10 years you'll think of it again and have solutions to all the issues and a new desire to write it and you can take it out of the drawer.

Plus, I sort of have to start writing an idea to see if I like it enough to keep going 🤔 Some just don't survive that birthing process lol

I'M FLYING SO FAST I DON'T EVEN HAVE PANTS

(outlines kill my desire to write, I avoid them at all costs. but I do keep notebooks with all my ideas sort of written higgledy-piggledy everywhere and they're lots of fun!)

So I've got two I'm actively working on right now, one is To Whom it May Concern, my Age of Burning Fields AU, and the other is another FicsForArt!2024 oneshot!

The first is hovering at about 30k words and I really love it. It's about coming of age, and finding out who you are, and forgiving yourself, and trusting yourself and giving yourself permission to pursue the thing that makes you happy, even if it's scary to do or you don't think you deserve it. It's very moody. And by moody I mean slow and long-winded, ha! But I went into it knowing it would very much be a piece where the target audience is 100% me so I am enjoying being selfish with it 😂

The oneshot is a TotK piece, hashtag bittersweet but hopeful! and I'm struggling with which voice I want to use a bit but all the pieces are there in my head, just gotta figure out how I want to say it. 😆 But the art is bomb and the sentiment behind it is 🤌✨ so I'm enjoying it a lot!
