MC Command Center Hotfix 5.2.2 is out!

This hotfix for MCCC includes the 3.7 Python script upgrade and changes to make it load correctly with EA’s Get Famous update, PC 1.47.49.1020 / Mac 1.47.49.1220.

Included in this hotfix specifically are:

  • Fixed notifications MCCC uses to display setting change messages and such.  It made it look like settings weren’t working, but they always were, just the notification about the change being made was causing an error.
  • Fixed an issue with the dialog for picking Sims which had an additional parameter added in this update so it caused an error when it was accessed by MCCC.  The dialog was used in various places including picking a Sim for an NPC Sim to become pregnant with.  Any command in MCCC that displayed a dialog for choosing a Sim would have gotten an error before this fix.

Known issues with MCCC and the current version of Sims 4 after the update:

  • EA has changed the way that story progressions are handled.  It’s possible that culling may fall-through the bypasses that MCCC had in-place previously.
  • The functionality used previously to handle pregnancies for NPC’s that were not on the lot is no longer handled the same way.  As a result, the tie-in I used to this functionality to handle “Pause Playable Sim Pregnancies”, “Manual Renaming of NPC babies” and Pet pregnancy progression will not work.  These have to be reworked to work with the new way EA is handling pregnancies.
  • There are most likely other things that I’m not aware of yet.  They will be added to this list/fixed as I become aware of them.

As with all releases, Last Exceptions are almost always from other mods/cc or from core functionality that is causing errors.  MCCC has its own error logging to the mc_cmd_center.log file, so posting something here about getting a Last Exception is the wrong way to figure it out.

As far as other mc_cmd_center.log messages, if you want to help figure it out or report something happening, stop by my Discord server and talk about it with support.

Installation instructions can be found here.

Troubleshooting can be found here.

Compatibility:

This has been tested to be working with (but does not require) GTW, OR,   Get Together, Dine Out, City Life, Vampires, Parenthood, Cats &   Dogs, Jungle Adventures, Seasons and the patch released November 13, 2018 – PC 1.47.49.1020 / Mac 1.47.49.1220. It will also work with anything  after that Sims 4 update unless otherwise specified on Tumblr/Patreon  posts I  make after the update. Earlier Sims 4 versions may not be compatible so  we often do not support anything below the specified version here!

Upcoming Patch Info

The upcoming Patch will be released on November 13th as it seems, 3 days before the new Pack will be released.

This is a pretty small time frame to Update my Mods especially since i have to check over 150 Mods & update almost all of them again because of the script Update. I only have time in the evening too because of work etc.

Like always i will check/update them as fast as possible and let you know here when i updated them etc. So pls don’t ask which Mods are still working or not or when i will update Mod xyz or  “pls Update Mod xyz”. It will not make me update them faster ;P

If you patch your game i recommend to put all of my Mods out of your Mod Folder and wait for my Update or my OK to use them again!

Thx

Sims 4 November Patch Thoughts

It’s fairly common knowledge that the incoming November patch (upgrading Python from 3.3.5 to 3.7.0) will DEFINITELY break all Script Mods.  If this is News to you, here is the initial announcement by SimGuruModSquad (SGMS) on Officials, and also, Deaderpool’s comment to MCCC users, on the incoming change.

My suggestion to everyone would be to remove EVERYTHING from /Mods (and remove the localthumbcache.package out of Sims 4, also), before updating to the next patch.

The script mods from before the incoming patch are ALL going to be useless. The Python part of the patch won’t affect custom content, BUT, nobody can guarantee the content part of the patch won’t break some cc items.  We’ll have to wait and see what happens, once the patch and notes are posted, and error reports start coming in to Deaderpool’s Discord, same as usual.

If your mods and cc are not organized, now would be a good time to do that.  If your eyes just glazed over at the idea of sorting out your 23758237482 files, here are some quick and dirty organizing tips I put together, and if you ARE fairly obsessed with keeping order in your Mods folder, here’s a more in-depth post from Athena (Mac screenshots included!) on getting organized.

Keep in mind, after the patch, Sims4Studio and Sims 4 Tray Importer will BOTH need updates, also.  BE SURE to do everything you need to, with both programs, before you update your game for the November patch.  We’ll be waiting for these to come back online, as well as our script mods.  You’ll find Mac and Windows links to both programs, and also links to how to do a 50/50 to find broken mods/cc, in this post from earlier this month.

Above all, Don’t Panic!!  We’ve been through several big patches on Deaderpool’s Discord, and we’ve survived to tell the tale.

Just come and visit us, once the patch hits, whether you need help, or you just want to see the show.  (Bring popcorn!!)  We’ll be keeping up with updates as they happen, and as always, we’ll do our best to get you back into playing your game, as soon as possible.

November's Here!

Do you have a plan for the incoming Sims 4 patch?  November 13, the game is getting a Python code update that will make ALL current (game version 1.46.18) and earlier Script Mods completely USELESS.

Custom content affected will depend on what the patch does to in-game tuning files, same as always.  Also, remember Sims4Studio and Sims 4 Tray Importer will both need updates, so be sure you’ve done everything you need to with both programs, before you update your game for the incoming patch.

This is the “Calm Before the Storm”… NOW is the time to go through your mods and cc, get rid of what you don’t use, organize what you’re hoping to keep into Folders, save links as bookmarks for the post-patch shopping/updating you’ll need to do, and so on.  Batten down the hatches, it’s almost showtime!!

When the patch comes, I plan to do a pretty thorough clean out, here.

By “partial” Folder Refresh, I mean, I plan to make a new set of Sims 4 folders, and roll a whole new save for testing on.  I won’t be putting any of the older files back right away, except for a Copy of the one .save from pre-patch I’ve been playing on, to see how well it makes the upgrade leap.  Also, I’m interested to see how a normally MCCC-modded save looks, without all the “cheats” applied.

I haven’t played Vanilla, with NO mods/cc, since sometime in October 2014.  I don’t know how long I’ll last this time, either.  But, who’s with me?  I think it’ll be interesting, checking out what’s included in the game itself now, having played modded for so long.  I don’t use many mods or much cc anyway, but for those who do, maybe a Fresh Look will turn out to be useful.  There are things I haven’t seen yet in CAS and Build Buy… maybe I’m not the only one.

I also don’t know how much time I’ll have for this experiment, that depends on how busy Deaderpool’s Discord is, post-patch.  I expect us to have quite a turnout.  We usually do, following any patch, and with the code upgrade, this one is adding an extra wrinkle.  (Bring your popcorn!!)

Sims 4 Python Upgrade - no problem

Hi All, awhile back EA reps indicated that the company would be upgrading the version of Python used by the game. They said “the game currently uses Python 3.3.5 and will be moving to Python 3.7.0. Once this change is released, all compiled script mods will completely stop working.”

This caused a bit of consternation in the Sims community, as everyone was worried their favorite mods would break and modders would not be able to update to work with the game.

The tool most Sims 4 modders use for script mods - unpyc3 - has been updated by Andrew. Read more HERE. Please note, the code here is effective only after EA updates in the November patch.

The crisis has been averted, and Sims 4 modding will go on as usual (updates to existing mods may be needed - but those mods can be updated).

Kudos to EA for this Python update and giving the community a heads-up!

WIP - I’ve always loved the little heart necklace that’s in the base game. I’m thinking of either making it an entire gem(?) or maybe an updated looking locket(?) not sure yet.

The chain could be changed too, but honetly from far away it wont make too much difference. Keep(?) Chain Link(?) Rope(?)
