Dead Plate Ghost!AU lore

no i shall not tag this.. but some of yall may have seen my fics, but probs yall may be confused as for whats goin on n stuff bc the lore was pr vague, but i stablished some more context so yall get a clue of whats happening n stuff (basically, i just added/changed some things so it makes sense)

ok so, the whole conflict on this AU is inspired by a phrase ive heard time ago: "If you don't let go and move on of the deceased, they will never rest in peace"

So Rody is still going throught the duel of losing Manon and can't move on from the things that happened while he was in the bistro, making the souls of Manon and Vincent get dragged down into some sort of limbo where they cannot rest due to Rody's remembrance of them (I know it's not easy to move on from trauma such as the things that happened at the bistro, but it affected Rody at the point where he grew paranoid of his surroundings. The place where the bistro was. The faces he met there. The conversations about the events. Even the jobs he's looking for because he doesn't want to work for crazy maniacs.).

Most part of this story is stablished on Rody's dreams, because the vulnerability of one's mind while theyre asleep leaves more easy access for the spirits to slip in. Though there's parts where we can see how the experience has changed in how he interacts with the rest of the world, due to his depression and paranoia. He still pursuits jobs to survive, but due to his demotivation, he gets fired pretty quickly.

Both Manon and Vincent want Rody to "let them go" so they can be at rest, but both take different methods.

Manon is the first one to enter Rody's dreams, she at first appears as a black silhouette with red marking and a teary eye, but Rody's mind manifests her as a blue, bright spirit, similar to the Manon he used to know. She wants to motivate Rody to move on and create his own purpose in life, but decides to not let him know about her existence as a soul, since that would make his emotional dependence even worse.

Vincent, even in the afterlife, wants to experiment something: If Rody dies, wouldn't that break the shackles once and for all, since there won't be a Rody to grief for both of them? While he doesn't really harm Rody, his mere presence triggers Rody's mind and showcases Vincent's spirit as a very spiteful and hurtful spirit, though Vincent doesn't help much with his approach, since he's clearly still angry at what Rody did to him. (Plus, the constant itchyness he has doesn't help with his mood either)

Rody himself is conflicted both by the thoughts of his mind, and the emotions he carry, he doesn't have enough money to get therapy of sorts (and doesn't pursuit going there since it would mean he has to explain the things that happened at the bistro). He doesn't consider Manon and Vincent's souls as actual people but rather dreams. Both Manon and Vincent don't want Rody to find out the truth because that would make matters worse (Rody's dependance on Manon, Rody's traumatic imagery of Vincent)

aight so thats all i have for no, hope yall have a good read into my goofy ideas!!
