♡ horror series ➸ until dawn “everything you do, every decision you make from now on, will open doors to the future. I want you to remember this. I want you to remember this as you play your game. Every single choice will affect your fate, and the fate of those around you.”

(art from patreon last month, i’m pretty bad at promoting it cos tbh i get kind of shy about it, esp since i haven’t had much finished art to share this year, but if you’re interested in sketches/studies or patreon exclusive stuff i post all that over there)

I do think people should reblog and comment on fan works more, as a person who occasionally posts stuff I’ve put hark work into I greatly prefer getting more feedback, but I also think saying “you HAVE to comment and reblog EVERYTHING you like or you, personally, will kill people’s creative drive en masse and make them leave fandom” is like. the worst possible way ever to encourage it for all involved.

if you pull out examples from your notes sections and say “only 1/8 of the people who liked this post reblogged it,” what a lot of people are going to get is “I simply don’t want to reblog that so I guess I won’t like any posts from now on, they get mad if I only like their posts.” if you say “fandom used to be all about community but all these upstart youngsters are killing it with their lurking,” it just makes people feel bad for using their own social media the way they like it.

I get the frustration with putting in a lot of effort and not getting much reception, but it isn’t anybody’s fault, no one has done anything wrong by choosing to not interact with a fan work in a way they don’t want to.
