I created my character to be mysterious—that’s why I picked the name Violet. Jennifer Tilly’s character in this movie Bound is this super mysterious, dark, sexy lesbian named Violet. I want my character to be a visual- the word “tchotchke” literally means no real function. I wanted to be a dark object that has no real function.

That’s really where confidence comes from. It’s knowing what you want and going for it, and knowing what makes you happy.

I think for me it comes from being a very independent individual. I never needed anyone for anything, after a while you just become comfortable with yourself. I guess it came with age. I was very insecure as a teenager and I just got sick of it and grew out of it.
