Pokemon Region Based on Florida ....Think About It....

You start up north on the map in your vaguely southern hometown. There’s a rusted pickup truck parked outside your neighbor’s home.

Then you visit the professor (who looks like he used to be in a pop punk band) in a small university town based on Gainesville.

Cities/Gyms based on

West Palm Beach - very preppy town where everyone wears pastels with a clothing store to match. Gym leader is a middle-aged woman with coiffed blonde hair wearing Lily Pulitzer like print who specializes in flowery Grass Types.

Key West - Island town where everyone seems to have a shady past, but are actually generally amiable. Older Pirate/Jimmy Buffet-esque gym leader specializing in Water Types

St. Augustine - Mysterious fountain in the middle of it. Fire type gym based on Castillo de San Marcos.

Orlando - Major city with a Fairy Type Pokemon Theme Park. Gym is fairy, and the trainers are dressed like actual Fairy Type Pokemon (no furry). There’s a route nearby that’s an artificial snow mountain meant to attract tourists.

Southwest Florida - Beach town where almost everyone is old as hell. Ghost Type gym.

Little Havana/Miami - City with trading port. Fighting-type gym. New Rooster-based Pokémon roam the street. Gym leader says (I’m sorry) “say hello to my little friends.”

Wynwood/Miami - Town decorated in streetart murals and with art galleries. Psychic or Dark-themed gym.

Tampa - This isn’t calling out anything to me, but I guess you gotta do it. You get to take a route based on the Sunshine Skyway to it, so that’s fun!

South Beach/Miami - Final city with league championship. During the day it’s a pastel Art Deco dream. Then at night it’s light up in neon.

Everglades - The new Wild Area with a lot more swamp.

Plot involves uncovering a corrupt official who wants to drain the Everglades/Wild Area for development putting the habitat of many unique Pokémon at risk.

New Pokémon based on:

- Flamingos

- Dolphins

- Manatees

- Florida Panthers

- Oranges (like imagine a little orange Oddish-like guy who evolves into an orange blossom tree?)

- Give us a new Shark Pokémon, c’mon!

- Grouper

- Roseate Spoonbill

- Heliconias

- Possums

- Armadillos

- Shrimp

- Marlins, Tarpons and/or Swordfish. (Wait… legendary trio?)

- Hogfish

- Parrot Fish

- Conch

- Bobcat

- Half snake/half alligator (if you know, you know).

- Swamp Ape!

- Butterfly-based bug Eevee evoltion!

- New Pikachu rip-off is grass/water swamprat.

- And, you’re gonna hate it, two new bug species based on mosquitoes and roaches that are annoying as hell!

Anonymous asked:

bright. teach us, your humble worshippers, how to make a proper cuphead oc.

You’re asking me- the person who is making a bunch of angel designs, each more uncartoony than the last, who when incorporated into the 30s rubberhose style they stick out more than any sore thumb you can imagine.

But for my more normal ones- uhhh listen there’s no proper way to make a Cuphead OC or ANY OC, this stuff is for fun, do what you want…

UNLESS you’re being serious about character design and all that, then yeah there are standards like,,, colour theory, telling their backstory/personality with their design (certain clothing or symbols (like if they’re sneaky, you can give them a cape– if they’ve seen some shit, give them a prosthetic), distinguishing silhouetteunique, distinguishable from other charactersnot too clunky/detailed, but also not too boring

if it’s for Cuphead specifically - look at old cartoons or background stuff in Cuphead itself for inspiration and see how they turn inanimate objects into living characters.

Like that rose character is sort of inspired by those living flowers in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.

Also - the thing with Cuphead is that it’s a cartoon universe, so everything is possible.

Also Cuphead designs are typically very simple - so whenever I draw them IN the Cuphead style- i simplify their design a LOT- but when drawing in my own style I go nuts with the detail.

It’s Back! The September 2019 Fakeathon has arrived!

For as long as there have been people, we have told stories about strange creatures with mysterious powers, unnatural shapes, and peculiar intelligence. Mythological creatures were Pokémon before Pokémon existed, so it makes sense that many canon species draw from myths. Whether it be Japanese Yokai, monsters of ancient Greece or the fae spirits of Celtic folklore, the realms of myth and legend make for a fertile ground of ideas!

This prompt theme draws heavily on my favorite Wikipedia article, List of Legendary Creatures. Each creature has a link to its own article so that you can read up on is backstory and get inspired. As usual, you do not need to follow these prompts exactly and are in fact encouraged to exercise your creativity in interpreting them into Fakemon.

Q. What is a Fakeathon?

A Fakeathon is a month-long fakemon challenge, where the goal is to design 30 fake Pokemon in 30 days. Any art style is fine, be it traditional, digital, pixel, 3D art, whatever!

Q. Are there any requirements to participate?

Nope! Anybody can join in a Fakeathon. The point is to challenge yourself and get some new ideas and fakemon concepts out into the world. You don’t need to do all 30 prompts, nor do you need to do them in order. You also don’t need to interpret the prompts literally under the theme. This is not a contest but a self-imposed challenge.

You are encouraged to share your creations on Social Media (Twitter, Tumblr, Deviantart, Instagram etc.) using the tags #Fakeathon and #FakemonChallenge to spread the word and share your fakemon ideas with the world!

ive probably said this before but i LOVE the twilight zone episodes with no quantifiable moral at the end, they just wrap up like “wouldnt it be fucked up if that happened?”

everyone saying black mirror NO the whole point of black mirror is that it’s rife with unwanted morals! no! i don’t want to be told how technology is making us distant and how helicopter parenting makes kids hate you i want “what if astronauts found their own dead bodies on a random planet and had a breakdown for a full episode then realized they’re dead for real and then forget and do it all again forever, wouldn’t that be fucked? i’m rod serling”

Twilight Zone is truly a masterpiece cause it doesn't shove messages I don't want. Black Mirror isn't the new twilight zone shut up

My CalaBeard fanchild Merveille :> or, like she’s known as by her pirate name, Mad Mervy

FEATURING her big bro Sinbad in the last panel, made by @startoonz and Fuchsia, the daughter of Cagney Carnation and Polly Paintella by https://www.deviantart.com/paintella

she’s an angry little piranha who bites your ankle as a small kid, and once she grows up, she punches your face (Brineybeard may or may not be a bad role model lmao)

Her giant blue pet crab has been her companion since her baby days, she loves crabbos, leads a crab army and all the crustaceans on the Perilous Piers are her best friends

mess with her crabos and you get her stabos
