Rachel, 29, she/her. I've given up on keeping an updated list of what I'm blogging about. Talk to me about science and cats.

Not only is this a great rebuttal to misinformation, it's also a strong reminder that you need to CITE YOUR SOURCES. If you're making a claim, if you're trying to share information, if you want to make sure you aren't perpetuating the cycle of misinformation, you have got to show your work and cite your sources.

You aren't immune to being tricked by misinfo. Neither am I. Especially in this age of generative AI and journalism industry instability, we've all got to do our part not to speak blatant bullshit.

So, apparently this bill won't take effect until 90 days after the legislative session ends (I am not a lawyer, but I think this is common practice for laws), so the repeal won't be immediate. Fortunately, Arizona also has a Democratic attorney general who has said she will not prosecute doctors who perform abortions in violation of this law.

Arizona Attorney Geneeral Kris Mayes won her election by 280 votes out of ~2.5 million.

Every single vote counts. Every single vote matters.

Sooooo it turned out larger than intended.

I had to cut the blocks to 9.5x9.5 inches rather than 10x10 inches due several pieces of the layer cake being cut incorrectly. Seeing as I can't do math, I figured I should add more blocks to make up for the loss. It was originally six rows of seven blocks, and I planned on seven rows of seven blocks. I accidently made it seven rows of eight blocks. Because I had the 7x7 layout in mind, I added two borders.

Keep in mind, the original pattern has the quilt at around 67x72 inches. I intended to have it closer to 75x80 inches. Well! It's 80x90 inches. Whoops!

I hope my client loves the quilt top! The commission is for just the quilt top, and I'll be shipping it off either tomorrow afternoon or day thereafter, depending on what they say about the results. I really do not want to take the borders and sashing apart to remove a row.

If you would like to commission me, check out my website. I have my gallery, shop, and commission info available there.

Lemony Snicket's Advice on Writing a Nice Thank-You Note

1. Do not start with the thank you.
2. Start with any other sentence. If you first say, “Thank you for the nice sweater,” you can’t imagine what to write next. Say, “It was so wonderful to come home from school to find this nice sweater. Thank you for thinking of me on Arbor Day.”
3. Then you’re done.
I recommend learning how to write a very good thank-you note. A child who can write a nice thank-you note can turn into a cocaine dealer five years later and be remembered as the child who wrote nice thank-you notes.

I saw a post that made me curious about this so here's a quick poll. Please reblog to reach more people. I'm sure there's more opinions out there but 12 options is the maximum limit for polls. Also, I'm sure many of y'all are probably thinking "well, it depends on what my partner wants as well," but this is about you. Imagine your ideal and vote based on that ideal. Imagine your partner agrees entirely with what you want and just vote based on that.

vampirism poses the question "what if there was a fundamental, horrible, unending well of want in your soul that, if truly satisfied, would lead to great pain for all those you hold closest and, in turn, their absolute and total revilement of you?" and naturally as a person with no problems I don't relate to this in any way at all.

vampirism also poses the question "what if someone you loved, through no fault of their own, needed something from you, and giving it to them and seeing them happy provided you the greatest joy, and you were the only one who could do it, but at the same time it was slowly draining all your life out of you?" which is also a completely unrelatable idea to me because I'm a normal person with no issues.

My husband said “hey look, it’s your friend” when we were on a walk and when I clearly couldn’t find a familiar face on the sidewalk he pointed to the mourning dove resting on the branch above us
