Fire & Ice

Some say the world will end in fire, / Some say in ice. / From what I’ve tasted of desire / I hold with those who favor fire. / But if it had to perish twice, / I think I know enough of hate / To say that for destruction ice / Is also great / And would suffice.

hey kids

you know why I like redemption narratives? because a redemption narrative says: no matter how broken or wrong or bad or stupid or ridiculous or harmful or sad or terrible, you can atone.

there is still a road back. it might be rocky and steep, complicated and messy. walking it may take all your life. you may lose your foothold, slip and fall back into the abyss, but the wall is still there. the ascent is still there. hard is not the same as impossible.

you are never too far gone. you are never beyond saving.

redemption arcs > black-and-white thinking

I loved this post started by flabbergabst

For ME this is all Wentworth’s idea for Leonard in scenes where Sara/Len are together in the same shot and that is possible ♥  Because I doubt Caity told him to do it, LOL.  Wentworth knows Leonard cares for her, so he tries not to tower over her ♥ There are many moments to comment, here a few:

It all started in the Pilot, Leonard sitting and Sara standing, how sweet ♥

Image

105 Fail Safe, Leonard leans on the table next to sara, he is even leaning a bit lower then her ♥

105 Fail Safe, Leonard is not standing straight but leaning towards her. It’s not a lot of leaning, but still ♥

107 Marooned, this has nothing to do with the lowering/leaning thing Leonard/Wentworth does, but I still love this cap, it’s like he is looking how his jacket fits her or something like that, LOL I may be wrong, but it’s my opinion :-)

110 Progeny, Leonard is sitting on the floor and Sara is standing. I still find it weird that they were not sitting together or both standing, but I guess it’s because Leonard tried to do his thing, awww ♥

Image

111 The Magnificent Eight, this is not Leonard, but have you noticed Mick does it too? Here Mick is not standing straight but leaning towards Sara….the same thing Leonard tries to do…maybe they talk? ♥

Image

115 Destiny, Most of this scene Sara is a step higher than Leonard, he is close to the step so she stays up there while the dialogue continues ♥

Image

115 Destiny, as someone commented on the post above, Leonard lowers himself while leaning on Sara’s bed. Len tends to let her be the taller one in the scene or at least be the same height ♥ ♥

There are more examples of this lowering/leaning thing Leonard does but these are the ones I remember. I love it so sharing ☺

Have you read or seen “Stoker,” the horror film Wentworth wrote a few years ago? Some of the dialogue from the screenplay:

UNCLE CHARLIE (CONT’D) (beat): Do you know why you feel at a disadvantage right now?

INDIA: Because I didn’t know you existed until today?

UNCLE CHARLIE: Because you’re standing below me on the stairs… That means I can look down on you but you have to look up to me…

He smiles, shrugging.

UNCLE CHARLIE (CONT’D):Basic stuff, really. Psych 101. Still, worth paying attention to…

If you go by that, Len’s giving Sara the advantage every time he can.
