They say hit the books, but this is a bit extreme | an acquaintances-to-lovers, college, slightly librarian au where you work at the university library and seokmin has a habit of taking forever to finish his work. he’s definitely a busy student due to how his major is broadcast communication, minor is vocal performance, he’s in five different clubs, as well as helps tutor and works in the theatre department’s shows. so yeah, seokmin has lots on his plate. it seems to be like the only place that helps is the library though since there’s no distraction of his bed in his dorm, but sometimes he’s so social that he gets off track and talks to people. after consideration, he decides to go during the evening when it’s not as busy then. you work the desk and help other students with things like finding books, unjamming the printer, and making sure things don’t dissolve into chaos (as much as a library could at least). you both know each other because of his frequent visits, but also, who doesn’t know the pride and joy of campus, lee seokmin? one night in winter, you’re the only one working inside and seokmin is one of the last there to study. once it’s time to lock up, you nudge him with a small smile and mention the time. to which he just furiously apologizies and starts packing up. you both walk to the front doors together when you realize they won’t budge. no matter how many times you try to body slam against it or use the automatic button, they’re wedged shut. seokmin glances out the window with furrowed brows before noticing. you two are snowed in. the doors are frozen and probably wouldn’t thaw for hours. what makes it even worse? you see the lights flicker before it goes dark. the power is out and you’re in the one building with an emergency break heater. sighing quietly, you suggest to head to back to the library where it might be a little more insulated compared to by the doors. seokmin agrees easily, following like a puppy. the two of you try to stay bundled in your coats, but it’s just too cold and glancing at seokmin in his parka, you can’t help but shyly ask if you can come closer—for the heat of course! you try to clarify, but seokmin just laughs and waves you off, he gets ya! it’s freezing and body heat would make things better. so that’s how you curl up beside seokmin, listening to his heart beat slowly as your eyes feel droopy from how late it is but also because of how much warmer you feel. he insists you close your eyes and he’ll stay awake if anyone comes, but you try to argue, only to be shut down again by him hushing you quietly. he runs his fingers through your hair to help you relax some, and it works, until you’re nearly lulling to sleep and you feel his lips peck your forehead softly
