Watching the last few episodes of Manifest and GOOD GOD IT TOOK BEN AND SAANVI LONG ENOUGH TO KISS I MEAN GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!!! Thinking about Ben and Saanvi and the “I’m the one person you don’t have to say that to” of it all. Like that is them at their core. They truly get each other. And post finale they have this shared experience that their partners will never understand and just *screams into the abyss*

The thing about Ben and Saanvi is that from day one they were on the same wavelength and comfortable being in close physical proximity, and that was without conscious memory of six years of friendship with developing feelings. And of course they are going to continue to be friends in their new life. Am I supposed to believe that Grace and Alex won't be weirded out and even a little threatened by Ben and Saanvi having a really intense friendship with someone who, as far as Grace and Alex know, they just met on a plane? Like if Ben and Saanvi having feelings was always the plan and not just something they teased shippers with, then I can't see the Ben and Grace and Saanvi and Alex relationships just being sunshine and roses, or even just relationships with normal problems.

yesterday i said in a previous post i didn’t necessarily dislike the finale and that’s still somehow true, but after having slept on all of this i want to add:

the finale only works if you don’t ask yourself any questions

let’s imagine ben wants to share the whole thing with grace - the poor woman wouldn’t believe a word. she (rightfully!) struggled to understand callings in season one, and only accepted what they were when she saw they were affecting cal as well. now cal has no memories. even if grace believes ben - is she going to understand him?

when watching season one i was sure the show was going to break ben and grace up. their conflict was SO REAL, so raw. grace couldn’t fully comprehend what ben had gone through, and he couldn’t accept she had moved on from him with danny during those 5 and a half years. i never fully believed them reconciling, although i had no particular problems with them doing so

now let’s pretend for a moment ben tells grace everything and she believes him. would he tell her as well he slept with saanvi? something tells me no, and starting over your marriage with a lie doesn’t look like a great beginning

also - it’s not like saanvi is going to disappear from ben’s life. she is going to cure cal, the stones are likely to see her every day. would grace (and alex, i guess) not pick up on the fact that ben and saanvi know each other, trust each other, have a very strong bond?

something tells me ben and grace’s marriage wouldn’t actually last. which doesn’t mean they don’t love each other, but they are just different people



i’m not even going to comment on saanvi and alex’s relationship, since the only thing we know about them is that alex bailed on saanvi because she didn’t want to leave her husband. once again, not a great start

Ok guys what do y'all think is the most blatant retcon in this series. Is it SJM deciding that Tamlin asked to take Nesta back with him instead of Feyre after Andras' murder, when that never happened in book one? Is it Tamlin going from not enforcing rank in his court and being mocked and belittled by Rhysand for refusing to be cruel, to becoming a tyrannical rank-obsessed dictator? Is it Feyre feeling like tampering with people's minds is cruel and morally wrong to doing it herself every other chapter? Is it Feyre crying that Tamlin didn't even crawl for her Under the Mountain when he... quite literally did? And couldn't do more because he was STABBED IN THE CHEST? Is it Lucien going from being pale and looking like Beron (ACOTAR) to being tanned and taking after Helion (ACOWAR)?

Is it another retcon I've brought out on my blog? Is it a retcon I haven't even mentioned? Like what do y'all think is the most blatant retcon Mrs. Maas has written thus far?
