Korean Grammar -(으)ㄹ래요 - Expressing or Asking for intention
Usages
- When you use this with the first person it expresses the intention or will of the speaker. (I want to…, I am going to)
- If you use this with the second person you can ask for the listeners wish, will or intentions (the person who asks the question can be included - to do sth. together)
- to ask if the speaker can do something for the speaker. in this case, it’s often used with the verb 주다 (to give) and the honorific suffix -시 -> 주실래요.
Notes - 메모
- This pattern cannot be used in the 3rd person!
- When asked a question using this pattern it’s natural to answer with this as well.
- Negation: -지 않을래요 / 안 + VS+(으)ㄹ래요

- Verb stems ending with a consonant + -을래요
- Verb stems ending with a vowel + -ㄹ래요
- If the verb stem already ends with the consonant ㄹ you just need to add -래요
