Varwolf is coming to neopets, how do u feel?
Legitimately WILD that this is how I'm finding out this information. Proud, I guess? Surprised?? Very flattered that 2/3 of my April Fools' jokes from twenty years ago have now been christened into full-blown pets. Holdin' out for a Lamort. 🤞🏼
This did make me wonder how I would draw a Varwolf nowadays while still sticking to the spirit of my original design, so here ya go:
Extremely grateful I spent $150 in 2007 on a ✨Lifetime Paid LiveJournal Account✨ just so I could have the maximum number of userpic slots, a relic of its era
Hey Claire! I was wondering if you had any tips, tricks or general advice for how the heck to do turn arounds? They're the bane of my existence (I just can't rotate features in my head for some reason) and I don't know if it's a good or bad idea to make a 3D model to help without having turns as references.
I answered an ask about this topic early last year, but YES totally a good idea to make a 3D model to help yourself out! So much of learning how to rotate a character in space comes from practice, and practice comes from studying how things actually rotate in space, and making a reference model is a fantastic way to jumpstart that process. Also super helpful for lighting reference as well! 👍🏼
HEY Y'ALL getting it in just under the wire, but I'm gonna be at @lightboxexpo this weekend! Not tabling this time around, but I'm going to be doing a couple panels/talks:
In wisdom of matriarch and of mother.
Sacred Bodies is a 55-page story about the marriage and relationship between Dualayim and Tolpan.
The peoples residing on the peaks of Spire unto Sky, those who live under the Light, have overcome great struggle to live in prosperity and in peace. Their hard fought-for sanctity and dignity is maintained through the Sacred Body and the tenants of its preservation.
Sacred Bodies explores the topics of desire and deviancy, and the cultural lines drawn between that which delineates one and the other.
Worth every penny and then some!! The intensity, the tenderness, the worldbuilding, everything makes me wish I could just read this comic over and over and spend more time in this world. Utterly gorgeous to look at, and beautifully written and paced at the same time. The type of comic that makes me wish I was making comics.
Also MY GOD the character/creature/costume design, be still my heart 🖤🖤🖤
I have a feeling that beneath the little halo on your noble head There lies a thought or two the devil might be interested to know You're like the finish of a novel that I'll finally have to take to bed You fascinate me so
You Fascinate Me So, Blossom Dearie
Happy anniversary to this beast, so glad I got to introduce a whole new swath of people to the music of Blossom Dearie🖤
Apologies if you've been asked this before, but when creating period-accurate characters and costumes, how do you go about researching? I'm currently working on some historical fiction projects, and am overwhelmed! Do you have any places you frequently go for references, sources, etc? (Again, apologies if this has been asked)
Good news, I have a massive Google Doc for exactly that! 😄
My latest poster for Riven, designed to match my Myst poster from last year, is up on the Cyan store (link in source)! This was an absolute love letter to the original game—a beast to finish with all those tiny little walkways in the village, but totally worth it.
