‘A feisty guy’ wasn’t enough to describe her brother Katsuya. She really did look up to him though, and talked about him a LOT. She used to play with him all the time, when they were kids, and gosh, Shizuka was happy just to talk and laugh by his side again. Duel Monsters was the first thing Jono’ wanted her to learn, and so she learned. About the game, and about him along the way. Auburn hair flowed gently in the wind, as she was -always- smiling. She seemed so fragile, and frail. Though her smile remained unshakeable. ‘Wanna duel sometimes ?’ he said. Lost one blushed straight away, in kind shades of red. Embarrassed, was she ? Maybe. Why ? She answered, while smoothly waving her tiny hand. “I-I’m not that good, you know. It might not be interesting to play against me, but if you’re up to it ...” Shizuka paused, her two big round eyes watching lavender hair tickling his nose. Her smile carried on, brighter than before. “... Then it would be a pleasure.”

❛ shizuka … ❜ he softly repeats to himself as if the name were familiar to him , however he couldn’t find the right memory to fit the situation . he shrugs it for now , thinking it’d be useless to ponder on it too deeply . ❛ nice to meet ‘ya too shizuka - san !! ❜ . he listens , interested and actually entertained a little . ❛ your brother ? that’s nice . ❜ thinking about it , he was never really close with his sibling . he simply stays silent and replies with a kind smile , what a nice girl to visit her brother and his friends (and he wonders if his sister too would visit him when she grows older .)
her words caught him a little by surprise , although he most likely expected it . ❛ nah , 'yer all good ! ❜ a pause as a wave of his hand hoping it’d reassure her . ❛ i actually just finished what i’m doing and 'bout to just pay a visit to a cafe , a friend of mine works there so i usually get a discount . ❜ he adds with a sheepish smile . thinking back on the previous topic , he remembered that she mentioned something about a card game … ? ❛ hm … about your brother teaching you a card game ? could it be duel monsters ? ❜ considering it’s the kame game store AND it’s a card game in domino city , there isn’t any other card game that could possibly interest a general audience .
She then lets out a deep, relieved breath. As she said before, she wanted to make sure she didn’t stopped him from doing something important. His words reassured her, and the smile which disappeared a while ago showed up again -- like the sun, revealing itself from behind a cloudy curtain. She nodded -a weigh leaving off her shoulders-, understanding him, then she nodded again. He had just asked something about the game she played with her older brother. Of course, she had no idea of who Ryuzaki-san was in the duelist world, and simply gave his midnight eyes an answer. “Yes, it is !” an enthusiastic spark ran through her gaze. “My brother taught me many things, and I can tell he really likes playing that game." You could tell by the tone of her sweet, fragile voice that she loved to play it too. “He told me he wanted to be a pro duelist.” And she smiled, as gentle as ever.
“Are you playing some games too, perhaps ...? If you were to meet my brother, I’m sure he’d want to challenge you ! In fact, he wants to challenge everyone.” she laughs happily.

two headcanons you have for your muse that you never told anyone :
001. Her being actually a really good duelist. I mean -- even better than her brother, and she ends up afraid of showing it because all she wants is to see him happy. She thinks that beating Jono in a Duel will humiliate him and it freaks her out. Like she was afraid of opening her eyes in the manga, she fears her brother’s reaction and can’t bring herself to win. She loves playing cards with her friends, but kinda drowns in this hell where she can’t have full fun and indubitably they’ll notice. She’ll have a hard time admitting it, for sure.
002. Shizuka listening to vaporwave. It’s a dumb/cute (?) headcanon but since she got that retro style going on I thought she could enjoy some sweet “suave” vaporwave. Heavy metal is so not her style // I love it ok // and I think good old 80′s inspired songs would fit her better. Maybe some rock bands too !

001. Hanging out with her friends, that is to say Anzu Mazaki, Yugi Muto, Hiroto Honda, Bakura Ryo, Ryuji Otogi, and of course, Jono-Uchi. She spends a lot of time at Kame Game store, where they reunite rather often. They play lots of games, and they share lots of laughs.
002. Reading some books and chilling at home. She likes music very much -since being ‘blind’ for so long was a bit too sad-, and listens to it often. A fan of cute things.
003. It would be so cute if she liked flower arranging. It’s so delicate and it suits her so well.

001. Her brother Jono Uchi, he did so much for her, and she wants to pay him back. Shizuka really loves him and looks up to him. He gave her the courage to open her eyes and see the world as it is. 002. Her mother. Though she divorced and separated her from her brother, she still is her mom. 003. Anzu Mazaki, whom she consider as an older sister. 004. Kujaku Mai, for the same reasons as Anzu. They are different though and show her another side of the world she yet has to see. 005. Her other friends, such as Hiroto Honda, Ryuji Otogi or Bakura Ryo. They don’t interact that much -in the manga that is- but they still share a few moments together and get along well. 006. Yugi Muto, for taking care of her clumsy brother. She knows she can count of him and leave Jono to him. 007. I can’t really think of anyone else ... Sorry.

001. Not being able to protect Jono when he fought for her so many times. He went all the way to the Duelist Kingdom to cure her disease, and she wants to repay him for what he’s done.
002. Waiting so long before seeing her brother again. She wonders why she recorded that damn tape instead of paying him a visit sooner.

001. DECEPTION. As you probably know, it took some time for Shizuka to open her eyes. She was cured, no doubt about it, but she wasn’t less scared. What if the world she saw all those years ago wasn’t the one she wanted to see ? What if all her expectations were born only to crumble up in the torn page of a book she wrote when all she could make out was the shape of a circle -and the dark, gosh, not the dark- ? I really think of Shizuka as a dreamy girl, afraid of falling off her cloud. Thankfully, Jono, her brother, gave her the courage to remove her bandages but it revealed something about her. She is human, she is fragile, and hoping thing will go ‘this’ way and doubting that they are pointing to another -a bad one- paralyses her completely. Which is understandable. Even angels get scared of something at a point of their life.
002. LONELINESS. A normal fear for a ‘normal’ girl. Not that going out alone for some errands -or else- scares her, but the idea of losing everyone she loves after she spent so many years without having real friends -and a family- is terrifiying. It goes for everyone, but sometimes, it gets to her. She wants to be this independant woman but also, due to her past handicap, she still needs a shoulder to lean on.

What a kind person, she thought to herself, while dozens of salarymen rushed -their phones hanging onto their ears- onto a never ending grey path. With no other choice than following this pleasant -and nameless, for now- stranger, she stepped on his shadow. Meanwhile, a name -his name- rang to her eardrums. He had asked hers first but politely introduced himself. “And I’m Kawai Shizuka. Nice to meet you, Ryuzaki-san.” a truly kind smile sketched itself on her pale skin. Also wanting to thank him, a -nice, anyways- question caught her off guard.“My brother taught me how to play a card game he really likes. He and his friends always meet at this place, so I thought it would be a good idea to pay them a visit !” a kind answer, as always. “I wouldn’t want to be wasting your time, Ryuzaki-san ...” obvious concern flashed in her two hazel orbs. “Were you doing something special ...?”
What was she looking for, again ...? Ah, yes. Wanting to prove her older brother she could walk the big city on her own, she decided to visit him and his best friend, Muto Yugi -they were always hanging together- at his grandfather’s game store. And she really wanted it, oh god she wished for it -being able to find her way between all those skyscrapers- . But no matter how hard she begged the clouds to take her to the right place, she only stood still when an unfamiliar voice crashed onto her messy thoughts. It was -it is- a boy. Lifting her gaze to reach him, the lost sibling could make out some purple strands of hair, covering his eyes. Just a bit.
