in the version of star trek that absolutely exists in my brain vulcans are at a point where they're totally fine with casual sex because they don't consider desiring physical pleasure to be entirely illogical provided it's not overly emotional or distracting despite the obvious illogic of pon farr; i can see so clearly in my mind's eye jim kirk's reaction to hearing that not only are vulcans more often down to fuck than he could have ever imagined, "pon farr night at the vulcan nightclub" isn't far off from some of spock's sexual experiences
