Helen Oyeyemi, from “White Is for Witching”
… I could have been anyone’s ghost, but I wanted to be yours. I had to be yours.
— Caitlyn Siehl, from “Haunting,” What We Buried
>A sheep died in a bog. The top of the sheep’s back was not submerged and rotted away. The submerged parts remained perfectly preserved.
Remus falls asleep on the couch with a book on his chest, basking in the warm glow of the fire in the common room. Sirius carefully pries the novel from his fingers and drapes a blanket over Remus’ body. Sometime during fifth year, Sirius finds Remus snoring, the book cracked open on the floor to a page filled with slanted, curly letters. He glances at the journal for only a moment, not wanting to snoop, but catches his name written beside Remus’ a hundred times over, decorated with stars and hearts. Closing the book, Sirius pulls the blanket over Remus’ shoulders and presses a ghosting kiss on his forehead. He can’t help but smile as he watches the golden light dance over Remus’ skin, his heart burning with wild hope.

Holy fuck. @lastsonlost
What a fucking monster.
Oh my God, what the fuck
This is fucking disgusting.
Imagine the roles reversed
“I drugged her drink and raped her as much as a could, and left when she woke up. She got pregnant, and she wanted to do the right thing and settle down with me to raise the kid”
Suddenly it would have 50k notes
O…..Kay! I hope one day your husband realises the truth and finds out what an absolutely disgusting piece of shit you are!
This is honestly terrifying and I pray I never encounter a woman like this
What. In the actual. Fucking. Fuck.
“It got me the results I needed”?!!!!
Are you fucking insane?! 🤯
She’s a rapist and apparently proud of it.
This is the kinda shit I’m talking about when I say our SOCIETY AS A WHOLE — men AND women AND every other gender — is responsible for understanding and promoting consent.
Yes there’s an obvious consent violation because he was drugged, but even how she talks about him — “it brought out the best in him.” Imagine a man saying that raping his partner while she was drugged brought out the best in her.
This is not okay.
It boils my blood that men getting raped isn’t taken as seriously as women getting raped (which still isn’t all that seriously, but still more than men)
😡😡😡😡
Yeah see. This is where the new wave femenist would not defend the man and there will be some in that group who will say he was put in his place. Real femenism would call for equality. She should be punished the same as a man would be. Rape is fucking rape! No matter the sex (what’s between your legs).
As protests against injustice in legal system, discrimination, police brutality spread through the US, it is necessary to educate yourself about these issues.

AFRICAN & BLACK PHILOSOPHY: Getting Started
Hello everyone! As many of us who study philosophy in some form are likely aware, people of color, especially black philosophers, are radically underrepresented in the field (composing only 1.32% of all philosophers in the US). In order to combat such marginalization, and in attempt to help amplify black voices within the field of philosophy, I have complied a series of links & information here for learning more about African/black philosophy, especially within the US. Please feel free to add to this post if you feel that anything is missing, esp if ur a black person!
Overview:
According to Wikipedia.org: “African philosophy is the philosophical discourse produced by indigenous Africans and their descendants, including African Americans. African philosophers may be found in the various academic fields of philosophy, such as metaphysics, epistemology, moral philosophy, and political philosophy. One particular subject that many African philosophers have written about is that on the subject of freedom and what it means to be free or to experience wholeness.”
Articles to start with:
- “What African Philosophy Can Teach You About the Good Life.”
- “A truly African philosophy.”
- “African Philosophy.”
- “Descartes was wrong: ‘a person is a person through other persons.’”
- “Does Western Philosophy Have Egyptian Roots?”
- “What You Should Know About Contemporary African Philosophy.”
- “Philosophy in Africa - A Case of Epistemic Injustice in the Academy.”
- “The African Enlightenment.”
- “The Radical Philosophy of Egypt.”

- “African Philosophy Is More Than You Think It Is.”
And some introductory texts:

- “Whiteness as Property,” Cheryl Harris
Important contemporary black philosophers:
- Cornel West (political philosophy, philosophy of religion, ethics, race, democracy, liberation theology)
- Angela Davis (also a writer and social activist & just a general badass, really worth knowing about regardless of whether or not you have an interest in philosophy)
- bell hooks (race, capitalism, sexuality & gender through a postmodern perspective)
- Lewis Gordon (Africana philosophy, black existentialism, phenomenology)
- Kwame Anthony Appiah (probabilistic semantics, political theory, moral theory, intellectual history, race and identity theory)

If you feel like you’ve seen this alread, that’s normal. This list of recommendation has been previously posted on my first account @praestantias which has been deleted for some reasons. So here I am, reposting it.
Hating how elitist and eurocentric the dark academia community became, I would truly appreciate that you leave some recommendation of book written by people of color, for I noticed that I am guilty of the eurocentric part, but I am really want to educate myself and read more non-white books.
Thank you for your suggestions!

Intentional misspellings and unusual handling of words is one of my favorite “minor” memes tbh I love it so much. Here are some of my all time favorites:
▪ Replacing “ck” with “cc” (ie. succ, thicc)
▪ Replacing “t” with “d” and vice-versa (ie. gotdamn,shid,blocket)
▪ Just… every kind of weird variation you can do with the word “fuck” (ie. fuckening, fucky)
▪ Weird jumbling of curse words that somewhat resemble something coherent (ie. mother fuck of a shit, shut the hell your mouth)
▪ Replacing a vowel in a word with another (ie. borger)
why have you analysed this
I don’t really remember the exact mindset I was in when I wrote this but it was probably something like “ohhhmmff english lamguage cool”
