Pairing: academic rival!Satoru Gojo x reader

Warnings: yandere, obsession, power play, hurt/comfort, no curse au, this series will get darker as the story progresses.

Summary: It has to pay off, he thinks as he waits for the headmaster to finally announce the valedictorian, knowing she is there too, shifting from one foot to the other impatiently. What face is she going to make when his name will be called? Is she going to cry? To yell at him and publicly demand a re-evaluation? Or will she, perhaps, finally admit he’s done a fantastic job and won fair and square?

When he spots her name in the stack of papers his HR left on her desk, Satoru gets a brain freeze for a second. Couldn't be the girl he had once studied together with, no. It's been what, more than ten years since he had last seen her? It must be some other woman wearing the same name.

But he can't just leave the paper be, immediately taking it in his hands while the manager makes a confused face: Satoru only looks at the candidates' profiles when they are aiming for the high management positions in his company, nothing less. This woman, however, applied for the middle-level position, only recently becoming a senior at her old job. Why is the CEO looking at her CV so intently?

All Gojo sees is the name of the school they both graduated what feels like a hundred years ago, and he knows it's her. It's the girl who was his one and only rival, someone he had finally considered his equal when they both were fighting for the position of a valedictorian. It's her. He can finally understand what has happened.

I just want you all to know, that if and when this site does experience a real exodus and/or get sunsetted for good, even if we don't keep in touch I'll remember you so fondly. You're the online equivalent of the other kid on the beach where we built sandcastles together; the girl at the campsite where we explored the trees. You're the drunk person who shared kind words in the bathroom at the club, you're the talented artists at the life drawing class or the poetry night in a city where I don't live anymore. It makes me sad that maybe in the future our paths won't cross so easily, but even when we leave this little shared piece of cyberspace, carried away on our briefly intersecting trajectories, just know I still love you

"When will fanfic writers update their stories?"

And never

"Does this fanfic writer have adequate enrichment to engage in writing behaviours?"

Fanfiction writers (Scriptor fictus) are intelligent animals who need plenty of enrichment as well as encouragement! If they're stuck in poor conditions (e.g. have studies, work, have to actually write to have something written) then they require the proper enrichment to engage in more healthy behaviours, like writing. Remember, due to poor breeding and socialisation, over half of all fanfic writers suffer from low self confidence and executive dysfunction so take care of them!

Give your fanfic writers proper care. Fanfiction writers are a life long commitment.

S. fictus enrichment can include (but is not limited to):

  • Playing the same song on repeat for 3 days (for the Scene Vibe)
  • Creating (and possibly even listening to) playlists of songs (for the Story Vibe)
  • Cleaning things that don't really need to be cleaned this instant
  • Snuggling household animals, particularly ones covering their keyboards
  • Writing memes
  • Writing games such as "WIP Wednesday" or "Post your last sentence" or "Writing races/sprints" (these are best done with groups of writers, and sometimes you'll need a non-writer to oversee timing or organization).
  • Comments on their archived stories
  • Snacks, particularly bite sized ones that can be picked up by their writing appendages without soiling them
  • Water in suitable containers for drinking (lidded w/ straws or sippy cups or water bottles are often preferred)
  • Watching source material repeatedly

An interesting side note, S. fictus has several subspecies. If you notice your writer is repeatedly watching source material and writing small chunks of fiction to post on social media instead of to archives, or is excitedly/repeatedly exchanging small chunks of fiction with other S. fictus, your writer may actually be of the S. fictus meta subspecies. This subspecies is much more socially inclined and can be VASTLY enriched through exposure to other meta writers. This is a double-edged sword; while they can be extremely enriched via socialization, if source material ultimately does not match S. fictus meta's expectations, they can become volatile or depressed.

One more note about the care of S. fictus, something that I see overlooked OFTEN. Many people think that giving S. fictus a blank document is enriching and will encourage writing behaviors. This is flat out wrong and can, in fact, be extremely stressful for your writer! If you see them suffering from blank document symdrome (BDS), please get into contact with their beta reader immediately. They'll be able to prescribe a few sentences to get your writer back on their feet in no time. I actually have a free sample you can have for emergency use:
