Hard agree that the casting choices for the movie are shit. But I wanna bring up that the picture of the actress playing Clawdeen that is circulating around lightens her up even MORE than how light she already is, and the actress isn't at all white passing. I'm saying this all as a black person btw I'm not pulling this shit out of my ass. My only hope is that people don't harass her, and that Mattel takes the window of opportunity they have until filming to recast Cleo and Clawdeen

Jackson looks like a walking talking stereotype of the perfect little non-disruptive non-rebellious nerdy straight A's stays-in-the-margins teenager that probably definitely gets his shit rocked by bullies at school complete with never swearing ("oh, fiddlesticks!" "aw, berries and cream!" that shit) but he ACTUALLY loves mad science and drinking horrid mad scientist potions and fucked up shit and has a dry dark CRASS sense of humor and plays GTA V with so many mods the console overheats and explodes and he loves it. It's just that he's also very coy and mild-mannered and all nerdy and sweet but he's also extremely fucked up like in the head.

Holt is exactly the same but the other way around 100% completely !!! like he is loud disruptive arrogant a huge bitch etc etc but he's actually a jerk with a heart of gold and a real sweet himbo that just so happens to love hyperviolence and thrashing people with the skateboard and shredding a guitar solo. He's not evil he's just too cool for school and also an ungodly mix of 90s radical hyperpop horrorpunk and incredibly stupid.
