NEW BAROQUE CHAPPEL

Hello, I have finally been able to came back, and I bring you something I promised a lot time ago but was never quite finished. I still need to make some walls to go with this set but you can star trying the best way to use every item. I really needed something more baroque, with marble and full of decorations so I decided to make some recolors.

The set consist on recolors of @felixandresims Versailles arches and columns, and @thejim07 Doric Pilasters (here) and his Spiral Columns (here). Also I added a few swatches of my Baroque Altar (here) and Shrine Paintings (here) (and here for taller version). You will also find 4 recolors of a basegame carpet with baroque tombs. Last I have created two marble floors with geometric drawing.

Each items has several swatches with several styles and colors to let you create as many combinations as you would like, specially the arches and columns which have more than 20 swatches. You can find every item by searching for “baroque”.

SALA PAOLINA WALLS

Merry Christmas!!! I’m sorry for disappearing for so long, but last month has been crazy. But It has been good, I went to Rome for a Congress where I was part of the organization and at the same time I could visit a lot of places. Because of that I have started creating some walls and other stuff from the places I saw. 

This is the first one I want to share with you as a Christmas present. Those are the walls from the Paolina Room in the Castel Sant’Angelo. Painted in 1534 by Perino del Vaga, Siciolante de Sermoneta and Pellegrino Tibaldi in a manierist way following the murals by Migue Angel and Rafael in the Vatican.

The murals are created for a room of 6x10 but you can make it bigger by mixing the different panels. Each side of the room is marked with a color in the swatch menu so you can find it easily.

BLACK PAINTINGS - GOYA

On Halloween night, my last gift: Francisco de Goya Black Paintings.  The mural paintings that decorated the house known as “la Quinta del Sordo,” where Goya lived have come to be known as the Black Paintings, because he used so many dark pigments and blacks in them, and also because of their somber subject matter. The private and intimate character of that house allowed the artist to express himself with great liberty. He painted directly on the walls in what must have been mixed technique, as chemical analysis reveals the use of oils in these works. These mural paintings, have been determinant in the modern-day consideration of Goya The German Expressionists and the Surrealist movement, as well as representative of other contemporary artistic movements, including literature and even cinema, have seen the origins of modern art in this series of compositions by an aged Goya, isolated in his own world and creating with absolute liberty.

The big ones, are a recolor of my Guernika mesh (HERE), and the small one is a new mesh, lowpoly and basegame compatible.

WITCHES’ FLIGHT

On saturday night the witches got out. For tonight halloween gift I have created a new canvas for Goya’s collection of witchcraft created as decoration for the palce of the Duke’s of Osuna in Madrid.

There are 6 different paintings, 4 of them are from the Duchess collection (now in several museums), and the Colossus and the Carnaval scene from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid.

The mesh is low poly and basegame compatible.

GUERNIKA // THE 2ND AND 3RD OF MAY 1808

On the 6th night of Halloween I present you war. War painted by two of the spanish masters. Picasso and Goya. The two of them lived through two of the worst moments of spanish history and represented those moments with vividly suffering. The bombing of the town of Guernika in the north of Spain during the Spanish Civil War by Nazi Germany “Luftwaffe” and the fascist Italy on the 26th of April 1937, and the Napoleonic answer against Madrid population on the 2nd of May 1808.

I have created two new meshes, low poly and basegame compatible. Along with the 2nd and 3rd of may paintings I have included some Neoclassical paintings by french painters (Gericault/David/Delacroix) and also a version of the 2nd of may by Joaquín Sorolla painted in 1884.

THE MASSACRE OF THE INOCENTS

On the 5th day of Halloween Herodes killed the children, and baroque artist gave their vision.

This time I bring you a recolor of @thejim07, Queen’s Guard Room - Sacrifice to Jupiter painting. I have made 6 different paintings and some recolors of the canvas too. All the paintings represent the Bible story of the Massacre of the inocents, The paintings are from:

- Peter Paul Rubens - Guido Reni - Nicolas Poussain - Luca Giordano - Carlo Coppola - León Cogniet (This one is not baroque, but it’s my favorite version, with the personification of fear in the face of a mother hiding his son)

JUDITH AND HOLOFERNES

On the fourth day, the women took the head. Keeping up with Halloween, I have created a new canvas for paintings with the story of Judith and Holofernes. 

The painting are inspired by the biblical story of Judith  (Judith 13, 9-11), but without the erotic aura that the renaissance had provided to the story. In these cases, Judith is dressed with her finest clothing. The action takes place in the tent of an Assyrian general. Judith is at the center of the composition, and the bloody sword she used to decapitate Holofernes and thus free the Jewish people from his tyranny is commonly represented close to her.

DAVID WITH THE HEAD OF GOLIATH

On the third Halloween Gift, I bring you a boy messing up with a giant head. What is more creepy than a young boy killing a giant and then taking his head off to play with?

The Bible story (Samuel 1:17) depicted here corresponds to the moment when, as a young shepherd, David kills Goliath, the giant, with his sling and cuts off his head to triumphantly exhibit it. The episode of tying the giant’s tresses to reveal his head has no iconographic precedent and is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, making this work yet another example of Caravaggio’s originality and independence.

After Caravaggio, some others followed his exemple, here I bring you, a selection of great masters versions of this story, including three versions by Caravaggio himself.

SCENES FROM THE STORY OF NASTAGIO DEGLI ONESTI

For my second Halloween gift I have bring to the sims Botticelli’s Panels for the story of Nastagio degli Onesti from the eighth novel of the fifth day of Boccaccio´s Decameron. A ghost story from Renaissance Italy.

The novel tells the story of Nastagio, a young rich and noble man from Rávena, who was in love with a girl that doesn’t love him back. While he goes for a walk to Classe forest, he sees the aparition of a naked woman followed by two dogs and a knight. Nastagio watched how the knight took the heart of the woman and fed the dogs with it. After that, Nastagio is told that while they where alive, the woman had disdained the love and for that he had committed suicide with his own sword. She died short after that and went to hell. There both of them suffered an eternal punisment: they had to recreate the grottesque scene for ever. After knowing the story, Nastagio started to think how to use it in his own benefit. In the third panel, we can see how Nastagio has invited the girl he is in love with and the rest of her family to a banquet in the forest. And at the end the dramatic scene occur, causing fright among the guests. When the knight tells the story, the women became tender and Nastagio’s pretended lover decided to marry him. In the last panel we can see the wedding.

The panels where a commision made for a wedding between two important families in the XV century. Hope you enjoy the painting more than the awful story they tell.

HIERONYMUS BOSCH TRIPTYCH

I have been thinking about doing something for Halloween this year, but it isn’t easy to create content on topic for my simblr hahaha. So I have decided to do some spooky paintings. The first one of this series it is a new triptych mesh with three paintings by Hieronymus Bosch:  The Garden of Earthly Delights Triptych,   The Haywain Triptych and the Temptations of San Antonio, with macabre scenes from hell, and also one extra:  Triptych of the Redemption.

The mesh is basegame compatible.
