Happy birthday Tokyo ghoul

It’s Tokyo ghoul’s birthday today so I figured I’d make a special drawing for it.

Tokyo Ghoul 6th Anniversary

I’m a day late but I finished my real anniversary gift for Tokyo Ghoul. I wanted to do Unravel from Tokyo Ghoul season 1 but went with Munou from season 2 for reasons. Unravel may be the most recognizable but Munou is easier to make into a string quartet arrangement for the reason the when sixteenth notes are played by different parts and for a long period of time it sounds repetitive and annoying. Munou also sounds prettier on strings while Unravel is better for piano

Anyway congrats Tokyo Ghoul for still being published after five years.

Happy fifth anniversary, Tokyo Ghoul series! 

It has been a loong journey for a single half-ghoul; Kaneki and his friends, and I reaallly enjoyed every chapter of episode of it. Tokyo ghoul is a fairly rare series I’ve ever seen, since Ishida is a sick genius , I really appreciate the plot, even with the lots of frustrating cliffhanger(s) xD.

I’m almost at the end of the celebration, sorry. But anyhow, I’m going to set up an animation project regarding this event, for everyone to enjoy watching. So I’ll be making several animations of special class fights (my favorite scenes) in the latest :re arc, those included : Houji, Aura, Tanakamaru, Arima, and Suzuya. Perhaps Marude. Where in the world is Koori

The next special class is…..

I drew this a long time ago and left it unfinished. I figured the 5 year anniversary would be a good time to post it and get closure. I really love Kaneki’s pose on the CD cover of Munou by Osterreich (the opening of Tokyo Ghoul: Root A), so I wanted to try redrawing it. It was just supposed to be a quick pose study, but it became a multi-hour recreation… You’ll notice in the original cover that the picture is darker and Kaneki has two left feet. I drew this trying to “delete” the smoke/marbling filter, and fixed the right foot (now he has the big toe on the correct side!). This was done with mechanical pencil using H, HB, and 2B lead. 

Since manga formats are really lazy on my hometown, I had to order these online, and God, what a treat they were!

The first two come from America, but the first one of TG:re comes from Spain, and it had a little surprise attached to it! (The original seller did not tell me of this)

Here’s my progress on my four piece Tokyo Ghoul art! These first two are from Tokyo Ghoul and the other two are going to be from Tokyo Ghoul :re! The third one will hopefully be done this weekend but I haven’t gotten the background to like how I want it yet. Anyways, I hope you enjoy 5 years of Tokyo Ghoul!!!

Five years of Tokyo Ghoul! I’ve only been in the fandom for like six months but it has become my favorite manga. I felt like I needed to do something so I’m gonna post this little sketch of the newest Kaneki! Hope you enjoy!

I’ll post later on my progress with my 4 Tokyo Ghoul artworks! I have the first two done that represent Tokyo Ghoul and my third is almost done from Tokyo Ghoul :re! See you later!!!
