@poedamerxn and I had a great need.
Rey fiddled with the fabric once more, swishing the skirts of her dress this way and that. Leia’s dress fit her perfectly and yet she still felt off. Rey was pretty sure she hadn’t worn a dress in her life, or at least not since she was a baby. Whatever she did, she just couldn’t get comfortable in the swaths of fabric, looking at herself in the mirror and not recognising the woman staring back.
She hadn’t even got to her hair yet, it fell around her face loose. She didn’t even realise that the back of her dress wasn’t completely done up. The door of her room slid open and there was Poe, looking smart in his dress uniform. “I look stupid.” She concluded, turning to him. “I’m just going to change.”
Poe had been watching her fuss over the dress for awhile, he could tell she was uncomfortable. Walking over to her, he gave her a warm smile and turned her around to the mirror putting his chin on her shoulder, he said, “you look beautiful.” He placed a gentle kiss on her shoulder before rubbing her arms, “you’re just nervous, which is normal. You can change if you want but you look beautiful. I just thought you’d want to know that.”
