#monster 2023#rode my bike to a japanese tea ceremony in a frenzy but was stopped by the scout march going through the city sgdjfj#i was a girl scout and this was my least favourite part of being a scout. what do u mean we have to march to the sound of a drum#wearing a uniform that was annoying and uncomfortable#being a girl scout should be about climbing trees and collecting little forest trinkets! not whatever that was#these tags have nothing to do with this movie but oh well

First you procrastinate on the task because it is not a big enough deal to get done urgently. Then you procrastinate on the task because it has become such a big deal that doing it is overwhelming. You would think that this implies a middle point where it is just big enough of a deal to get done easily, however the inherent perversity of the universe's causal geometry prevents this

This is the English word I want to get tattooed on my wrist. It means “to keep breathing even though the water rises all around you.” English is such a mystical exotic language. They can fit so much meaning into so small a word.

that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing

#true. this is kind of how i think when i get on a plane#i have a fear of flying so i just have to tell myself that i could die but i also might not and worrying about it makes no difference anyway#mental health
