me, with tears rolling down my cheeks: magnus bane grew up hating himself and believing he was a monster. when he was barely 10 his mother found out that he was a warlock and killed herself and then his stepfather tried to kill him by drowning him and in a loss of his powers he burnt his stepfather alive and ran away from indonesia ALL the way to spain with guilt in his heart even though none of it was his fault. he then also proceeded to start taking clients and developing his magic and he became one of the smartest, wisest and most powerful warlocks alive and he just - did so much for everyone and he saved everyone. he closed a portal to the void that would have killed all of new york and he saved the vampires from a a drug crisis, he saved catarina from being burned as a witch and saved raphael as well, not to mention he saved the entire tid, tmi and tda gangs and without him they would all be dead. he became so wise due to experience after experience after experience and he had to watch his first love die in his arms and he couldn’t handle the pain so he started to party and vacation and wear bright clothes as a shield from the world because if he settled down the memories and the weight of the world would crush him. he felt like he couldn’t settle in moquega because the place was too quiet for someone like him, someone who would never have a home, or a place to settle, or a place where the compass of his heart would point too. he partied and moved from place to place and loved and lost and had his heart break and watched people leave because he couldn’t give them a family and now he finally has a family and he has a home and a husband where the compass of his heart can point to but he’s going to lose it again because no one will outlast him

point i’d like to add: julian decided on this after witnessing the cruel state of thule and how his sister was forced to be in a rebel group. like, why would cc introduce an alternate dimension just for the white protags to realise that “they need an army” against the facist dictators?

The throwing knife fell short of the brightly coloured target, clattering to the training room ground with a sound that made both occupants of the room wince.

“Focus, Tavvy!” Dru chided her brother, shaking her head as she went to retrieve the fallen blade. She yanked the other knives out of the target that had been thrown successfully, and handed them to her brother, who pouted in an unimpressed fashion, and took them.

“How long is this going to go on for?” He complained whilst extending his arm behind him to aim for the target. Dru raised her eyebrows, clearly feeling the superiority that came with teaching one’s younger sibling something that one has mastered.

“However long it takes you to hit five bullseye’s in a row.”

Tavvy’s answering groan was so long and drawn out, Dru felt it vibrate in the ground beneath her.
