Thus a while ago @simplyme8308 and perhaps a few other people tagged me to post 8 facts about my muse. Forgive the delay. I had been in the state of extreme mental unstability as well as exhaustion, I am getting to it just now. Also, apologies if the facts seem uninteresting, shallow and poorly written. I am far from being out of the Pit still.
1. Erik is a satanist. Should there be a God, or Heaven, Erik despises them, as what felon could have given life only to damn it for perpetual torment on Earth since very birth. He admires Lucifer, the one who was cast down for rebellion, the one who granted humanity free will (keep in mind that Erik had been treated worse than an animal, perhaps only music holds more value to him than free will). He also adores demons, entities of darkness, of terror, of beauty few can understand, just as he is. You are confused how the whole angel of music concept could have blossomed then? Well, one of things Great Serpent taught him was seduction. It was nothing but a trick seeking to charm, as he knew how religious Christine is.
2. Erik is a nocturnal creature. As little as he sleeps, he does during the day. He is also a sadist, often tormenting people for his own pleasure rather than gain.
3. Love is only an illusion, a beautiful dream to Erik. His whole life is no more than a dream to him. Thus if someone he loves admitted to feel the same, he would not believe the truth of it and likely be overtaken by rage rather than joy.
4. Despite whole concept of Love Never Dies, Erik is extremely uncomfortable around children. He finds them irritating, foolish, disgusting even, and without knowing, holds slight grudge towards them, as why are they blessed with happy, innocent lives while all he ever knew was pain. Should his lover (or himself in some verses) fall pregnant, Erik would feel no joy, only horror of his offspring turning out disfigured and suffering same torment. He would likely go as far as try to poison his lover (or himself) into miscarriage, seeing it as a strike of mercy. However, if he met a child of similar fate, he would take them under his wing as well as murder their wrongdoers.
5. Continuing the topic of children, shockingly Erik is far more likely to abandon a of his child who turns out beautiful rather than disfigured. It is because he would refuse to believe the beautiful child could possibly be his. While if it was deformed, he would never cease to blame himself, but try to make up for “wrongdoing of his blood” by protecting the child and teaching them ways of a ghost.
6. Erik is a skilled artist, however his drawings are mostly morbid and psychotic, resembling nightmares he has. Unlike music, visual art is more of a way for him to express distortion rather than beauty of mind.
7. Erik remains alive only because all these melodies still lingering in his soul. Yet when last note runs dry, he is to kill himself. He does not fear that thought, he already sees himself no more than a cadaver wandering among living for sole purpose of serving as a vessel to music.
8. The reason why he loves Faust as much is because the story reflects himself. In a way, he is Faust, a prodigy longing for what he can not have, though secretely, he seeks to be Mephistopheles.
1. In this verse, Erik’s true name is Valak, High President of Hell. It is mostly based o my personal crossover with The Conjuring universe.
2. It is said “A devil only loves once”. Valak will ever truly love Lorraine (well, she is in this verse a reincarnation of Christine, thus they both count). He may take other lovers for various reasons - seeking to drown grief, raw lust, political games, but never sincere affection.
3. That be said, should someone other than Christine/Lorraine have his child, Valak would not even see them as his own. Perhaps, if they seemed useful enough, he would take them as a part of his legions, but never care for them as a father would. In fact, he would see Judy Warren more as his child than his blood offspring with someone other than Lorraine.
4. Valak is called Lord of Snakes, and indeed, one will rarely encounter him without at least one around. A serpent is one of his most frequently used alternate forms too.
5. Valak is one af the richest Monarchs in Hell, and it should not be surprising knowing the fact most of hidden treasure on Earth alone belong to him.
6. Among whole demonkind, he is titled to be the most talented composer and one of the most talented singers. He uses music both as a form of seduction and expression of sincere feelings. Unlike Erik’s original verse, his most beloved instrument is not an organ, but a piano, violin being the second.
7. Phantasma in this verse is his own empire of music and a way to pass time on Earth. He too takes amusement in toying around with large collection of cursed, haunted or occult-used objects Warrens have collected. Much to Lorraine’s anger, he teaches Judy how to use them rather often, making her a skilled sorcerer.
8. More humorous fact, he knocks over crucifixes in a playful feline-like manner to ruffle Lorraine’s feathers a little.
Actually, I have made a whole post with facts about this verse which can be found here x. I can not think of anything else right now.
