Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Chicago Fire Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Sylvie Brett/Matthew Casey Characters: Sylvie Brett, Matthew Casey, Julia | Sylvie Brett’s Ward Additional Tags: One Shot, Hurt/Comfort, Light Angst, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Tenderness, Caretaking, Heart-to-Heart, Canon Compliant, Supportive HUSBAND Matt Casey, Sometime Post 12x06 Summary:

To say Sylvie is surprised by today’s turn of events would be an overstatement. Did she hope she left these sort of occurrences behind in Chicago? Yes. Did she think she really had? No.

So, no, she wasn’t surprised when she looked up and saw a car heading straight toward the ambo just a few hours into her fourth ever shift with Portland FD.

They just parked at a vehicle accident. Her partner had already stepped out of the driver’s side, but just as Sylvie reached for her door handle a car came speeding out of opposing traffic and rammed the ambo head on. Sending the ambo backwards into the existing vehicle accident.

Tumblr isn’t showing this post in the tags for some reason 🙄

A one shot collection that is a continuation of the good/right/real universe. Now featuring a one shot set during 5x20:

A lot can happen in a day.

The day after he talked to Kannell in the chapel, Casey found out Jason made an official statement. He took the blame for the entire incident. Matt meets Boden immediately after finding out and they run through the scene together while they’re off shift. While walking through the details, he and his chief are convinced Kannell couldn't have been responsible. The levels couldn’t have risen quick enough for an explosion in the time it would’ve taken Jason to run from his spot by the manhole to the rig and back again. His story didn’t make sense.

But what does make sense is Jason taking the blame for his superior officer. Doyle died in that explosion and were Matt in Jason’s position he would want to make sure his memory wasn’t tarnished by one mistake. He’d probably lie too. If it were Severide or Boden who had made the call and lost their lives? No question.
