my mom is a pedophile and she molested and sexually abused me my whole life, and after countless attempts to get even a single person to believe and help me (including medical professionals and law enforcement), i am still all alone and now finally homeless after being kicked out. I’m and sick and disabled and unemployed and miserable, so now i am struggling to survive with extreme C-PTSD, depression, and fatigue all alone cause i have no family or friends who support me or believe me or nothin’ lol so please help me out in whatever way you are able to because i am horribly suicidal and still in the thick of the trauma no matter what i try to do to help myself, because i cant do it all alone and no one will help me, i get told “you’re on your own” by everyone and sent away, even from crisis stabilization unit-type places when i say im actively suicidal… which is really fucked up lol.

I actually looked up the author, Becky Albertalli, a while back when I was first getting hyped for Love, Simon, and from what I found (and please let me know if I’m wrong, this info is coming from a few quick google searches) she hasn’t just created multiple, well-written LGBTQ characters, she also worked for years with LGBTQ teens and support groups, particularly for gender nonconforming kids. If that doesn’t tell you how far this woman is willing to go to aid LGBTQ folk, I don’t know what will.

YEP. She addresses this in the very end of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda in her acknowledgements - she wrote the book with the help of a multitude of LGBTQ teenagers. She wrote what she knew from experience, but for the things she did not have experience with, she sought the wisdom of the people she was writing the book for. She is a genuinely awesome ally.

as soon as i saw this response my first instict was to respond, but then i decided to delay my response and do actual research about this

i was already aware of how the episode “M.E Time” (are we still considering it an episode?) is extremely problematic, fatphobic, and just a big huge no for everybody, and you have to be fatphobic to allow the writers to give you certain lines, but i wanted to do more reserach about specifically andy samberg irl

i searched “andy samberg fatphobia” on tumblr, and there wasn’t a single post

i googled “andy samberg fatphobia”, and nothing popped up, not a single article, or not even a tumblr post or a tweet about what i was looking for, nada

what did pop up though, was an article about a very old SNL episode that was extremely fatphobic, but an SNL episode is not real life

to everyone who sees this: if you think andy samberg is really fatphobic in real life, give me the sources, give me links to interviews, tumblr posts talking about it, or articles, anything, that is valid proof that “andy samberg is a major fatphobe and aggressive about it in real life”, instead of leaving petty comments under my posts

I’m sorry I just knew someone in real life who auditioned for SNL when he was in it and when she auditioned he made fat jokes to her face and made fat jokes about other comics/actors auditioning. It was something that happened in real life that can’t exactly be sourced but I believe the person who told me because they seemed really disspointed by it. I’m sorry, I should have added that it was told to me by someone who experienced it first hand.

I still love Brooklyn 99 and enjoy his comedy but I can’t unhear or unlearn this person’s account of what he had said to her and some of the other actors. He was smart enough to never do anything like this on air or to anyone with a huge following. However the woman I knew at least did have a really witty and cutting comeback towards him, which seemed to shock him, maybe it made him think, who knows?

I can only hope that he learned and gained more compassion for other people throughout the years.

if you are 13 and there is a 17/18 year old showing interest in you: please run away and never look back. i understand that you feel special; that older person will tell you how mature you are and make you feel special. but please. run away from that person. stay away from them. they do not love you. an 18 year old should not have ANY interest in a 13 year old. please. please be safe. please do not let them manipulate you. they are dangerous. stay away from them
