It's kinda curious and hilarious how twitter fandom always choses the Bobby/Bathena arcs to complain about long focused arcs.

I mean yeah we already saw Bobby Minesotta fire backstory, but we also already saw Eddie relationships failing because he doesn't realize he keeps looking a woman to fulfill a role of mother for Chris/A woman he can project his glorified relationship with Shannon. We also already saw Buck's multiple times navigating through feelings and LIs to discover a new self (the gender of the LI being different doesn't change it's basically the same thing), except for the representarion, that is always good and needed

"But it's new layers of the characters being shown, it's not the same", this also applies to Bobby.

We're actually about to see his childhood, something the writers never touched or explored before, so people acting like it will be the same stuff again is kinda ?? to me.

Also acting like thevcruise ship arc is at fault for madney wedding being short was hilarious to me, because the writers could totally have cut the nun bulshit with Marisol that had cost half episode of scenes where Eddie was spiralling over it. In fact, the writers could have finished eddiesol relationship off-screen way before, like it was done with bucktalia. This way Eddie didn't have to cheat and his fans didn't have to fight their lives trying to defend it due context/narrative. If the writers had cut any of that, we could have seen more of the wedding prep.

I'm not even afraid of them not wrapping storyline in two episodes for S7, because they legit don't need to rush. They guaranteed S8 so idk what is the need in rushing the arcs (Hen and Eddie's) to wrap the season. If the writers are smart they will leave arcs for S8

Anyway, sorry about the negativity, just ignore me. i'm just a little bit bitter because I only see this type of discourse when it's bathena/bobby arcs. It was like this with "The Devil You Know", same with cruise arc and now with "Bobby arc" that didn't even air.

tagging my favorite characters in your fics where they barely factor in is a surefire way to get your ass muted or blocked on my ao3. overtagging fics is a pet peeve and cluttering up the archive to get past the filters is a dick move.

to be fucking real, i am too damned old to put up with that kind of foolishness.

Bobby fans how are we feeling?

I'm in shambles

Finally got a moment to indulge in one of my favorite hobbies: being completely normal about 911 locations. 😅️

This:

Is this building:

This:

Image

Is on the FOX lot:

(You can see the plaque with previously filmed movies and shows on the outside of this sound stage.)

This:

Is here:

(The first place is about 80 miles from the studio and the second one 40 miles but in a different direction.)

What does this tell us? Not much. The blue shirt scenes were filmed on location at the dessert location a while back and the fire scene with the 133 was filmed in a different place, likely for 7x10.

Um interesting. So I'm asking, considering the Aisha story where he had that hospital gowl with him, would you say it's for the finale too or it's unclear since we don't know when that story was actually recorded?

In S5, when Bobby mentioned in his family boys had only one career option, firefighters, making him a legacy, the convo was about kinda sort if they did regret anything of their past and wanted to go back and do different.

Bobby said he wouldn't go back to his twenties even if someone paid him... Now we have the synopsis telling about how he revisits his fractured past... I wonder if that line was a consequence of said fractured past...

I'm part of the minority that doesn't think it's gonna be Buck and his loft Amir goes after, it's gonna be Athena (and potentially May or Harry) if he even goes after anyone other than Bobby himself

If they're going on that route, we should consider Amir lost his wife, so it would be way more plausible for him to go after Athena, Bobby's wife than Buck. There is no indication of both of those at moment, so far Amir seems to be focused only on Bobby. This is just their usual "let's make this plot about my fav" thing that happens to storylines of every character in this show that aren't buck

What's with the divorce era?

Are you telling me that Eddie is in crisis and your immediate premise is that Buck will make it about himself and actually will have the audacity to be mad at Eddie for hurting and not being over his dead wife WHO HE WATCHED DIE, instead of being there for him like a best friend should?

Tells me a lot about the kind of friends you may be, and that doesn't bode well for your friends.

Also, don't come and yell at me the next time I talk about how Buck always has to be the center of attention, when you made Eddie's issue about him somehow.

I do get where people are coming from with the thing of Amir burning down Buck's building, but how is a relative outsider meant to identify Buck specifically as Bobby's pressure point

If they were going on that route (i don't want to), would be way more plausibe for Amir target Athena than target Buck, specially considering it seems like Amir lost his wife on the fire.

Kids being a sensitive matter to Bobby ain't something a stranger would pick. First because kids are a sensitive matter to anyone so it isn't a particular thing to pick on Bobby's persona as a stranger. Even when Buck got caught in the mess with the bomber it was accidental as the guy was aiming for Bobby to be on the truck, not Buck, who ended as collateral damage, so if Amir wanted to hurt Bobby the same waw and had to target someone it would be Athena due the similarity of his own loss. Second because Amir doesn't seems to know Bobby lost his family on that fire, the man seems to have been living his life the best way he could until one day he bumped on Bobby in his work and his emotions went all over the place, and this is why i still hope the writers subvert the expectations and Bobby talks Amir down or a random cause the chaos. I'm all down Buck's loft on fire but i don't believe it should be with this storyline, because as you I don't want Amir to be made solely revengeful and also because i don't want this storyline overshadowed by the loft fire because it is what would eventually happen considering this fandom.

Like only now i had time to process we're actually going to see "Bobby's childhood, but WDYM "FRACTURED CHILDHOOD? You're telling me this broken man who went through such a tragedy in his life also had a bad childhood? Or is just them playing with words and meanings??? Damn THURSDAY CAN'T YOU COME ANY SOONER??

New day, cool head.

Now that I'm thinking properly, if Amir was about to be a character that is there only for revenge, it would be too soon to have this conflict as there would be no point in having him for the rest of the season when the conflict is happening in the ep 8 most likely.

So unless episode 8 ends on a cliffhanger where Bobby is held on knife point and the conflict is actually o ep 9, or the writers go nuts and pull a fleeing suspect where Athena chases the man down the hell for hurting Bobby (that would honestly be like ??? to the themes in my opinion) things will probably go smoother than the preview alludes to.
