Hi, so I'm an art student and recently decided to allow myself to have fun (both write fanfiction and draw fanarts) of Sasusaku, and I'm usually quite insecure about my art, but I've been thinking about posting it somewhere. Which platform would you recommend? And maybe some tips for dealing with hate I may get? I'd truly appreciate any answer from you, I'm following you on Twitter as well and I've been a fan of your works for quite some time now

goodness, thank you! Posting art for the first time can be nerve-wracking but I say go for it! As for recommended platforms, Tumblr has become a bit of a ghost town since the NSFW ban, but there are definitely still people in the fandom who check the sasusaku tag every day. Your post may not get as much exposure but it will be found by people who genuinely appreciate it and interact with it in a positive way. Having Anon activated may lead to some people getting ballsy and leaving nasty comments in your inbox but I really think the majority of the people who used to waste their time harassing content creators have died out (or moved to Twitter..)

Speaking of Twitter, it’s a good way to get exposure quickly although I personally don’t like that the images you post will be cropped to fit their thumbnail guidelines. Also people are a little more open with their ..opinions..

Pixiv is a third option that uses a tagging system and you’ll get exposure to more of the Japanese fandom. People can like/favorite your posts but they can’t reblog them so your art relies on the time/date you post in in the tag. Still definitely worth making an account, even it it’s just to browse.

As for dealing with rude people, I’ve found that Pixiv is the most respectful platform and Tumblr is much more quiet than it used to be. Twitter can be an absolute sh*tstorm sometimes but the block button is a marvelous thing. This fandom has gotten really black & white with the whole “SS vs Antis” thing but honestly it comes from all ends and the best thing you can do is ignore it and keep posting your lovely content for the good eggs that are still here. <3

Fun fact Patre0n doesn’t let you come up in searches within their site if you are marked 🔞 so all my exposure has to be through shameless plugs 🔌😬
