The roommates and I have been on a P4 binge. I honestly forgot how much I loved these two.

Whenever Yukiko gets into some shenanigans I usually yell, “Chie control your wife!” haha.

Enjoy some Persona 4 fitness gals. I was really in this weird mood to draw ladies in fitness gear, so why not my favorite game gals? <3

As a trans guy, I really feel I need to speak up about how the fandom handles Naoto and how it trivialized workplace sexism in Japan. Naoto never truly wanted to be a man to begin with. She was already discriminated against and not taken seriously do to her age and the fact that she was a woman only made things worse for her. She felt she would never be accepted as a professional and taken seriously due to others looking down on her for being a woman. In Japan (as well as multiple other countries in the world) women are still seen as less capable than men even when they are equally qualified for a job or task. I think it’s very sad that she was made to feel so inadequate in her position that she felt the need to force herself into something she didn’t feel comfortable with in order to be taken seriously.  I often see Naoto compared to Kyuubei from Gintama which isn’t quite accurate and here’s why: Kyuubei is a character that actually feels uncomfortable with their body (and always has) and desires to a man to ease that discomfort. There is no ulterior motive for wanting to transition other than alleviate dysphoria. The other characters try to prevent this from happening because “it’s weird” or “not right”. While I still love the show and can laugh at the jokes this is for sure an example of a trans character being handled incorrectly.  In Naoto’s case, she wants to transition because she thinks being a man would would make her seem more worthy of her job and not be undermined by her coworkers. All of the discomfort she feels is only because she has had it repeatedly hammered into her that being a woman makes her less than men. The other characters want to prevent her from transitioning because it’s not the right way to go about things and she shouldn’t have to force herself into being something she isn’t. It would be better for her to accept that she is a woman and prove to others that she can be a woman and still be good at her job.  She also admits several times in the game that she is a woman, doesn’t really desire to be a man, and that she is happy living as a woman. It makes me sad that people can play through her part of the story and watch her grow stronger and learn to accept herself and stand up to sexism and undermine and trivialize a brilliant commentary on workplace sexism.
