When you're at a event, count how many people with mobility aids there are. If it seens low, think about why that might be. Count how many disabled bathrooms. Count how many unavoidable steps. Try and find one accessibility issue at the event and afterwards contact the organisers to ask them to fix it.

Many disabled queer people are left out of the Pride month celebrations due to accessibility issues, so if you're able to be there, you're already in a position to make it better.

I literally can’t go to pride in my city because the ENTIRE event is set in SAND and the amount of walking done at pride requires my wheelchair.

there is a group of people in the world who have almost starved to death and there is a group of people who haven’t (yet). as a member of the former group, I think the genocide of palestine hits different for us.

I cannot overemphasize how literally no other experience is like starvation. none. it is all-consuming & yet ungraspable. it is a permanent trauma on the bodymind, even if the starving subject is supported and materially safe otherwise. I lack the language or imagination to talk about what Palestinians are enduring.

I haven’t been through anything nearly as traumatic as these people, obviously, but I have experienced extreme malnutrition. To the point that I had to be hospitalized to avoid referring syndrome, and I still rely on a feeding tube to this day.

But before I got that tube, I experienced the inability to eat. I lost all of the weight that I had to lose, and my body began going through my muscle mass instead. I lost a lot of muscle because of it, I could hardly walk.
