MERLIN 1x01 “The Dragon’s Call”
Nine of Cups - “I want you to always be you.”
I didn’t think I was going to be gone as long as I was today, so just posting this now.
(This bit I wrote in a post on here already.) Anyway, when thinking of the Nine of Cups, I was originally going to go with a much happier episode, but I kept thinking of the wish part of the Nine of Cups. Then I was thinking of what Merlin wished for. Merlin constantly put those he cared about, especially Arthur, before himself, but in the beginning, he did wish to be seen and accepted for who he was. To be able to not have to hide who he is. He completely threw it away when he chose to save Arthur, which backfired. That scene was actually the scene I chose for The Lovers. Here though, I ended up going with Arthur accepting him. Merlin’s wish being granted even if it was as Arthur was dying. (Basically, I blame the show being a tragedy for why the Nine of Cups isn’t some dude sitting with all his cups.)
Next will be the Two of Cups which will have some characters I haven’t painted yet.
