i don’t know what prompted me to do this, but i basically rewatched my favorite episodes and moments of all six seasons of the mindy project. i haven’t watched the show in years, and wow what a trip.

the mindy project was the first and only fandom i was truly part of, the show that shaped my entire tumblr experience and got me into writing, and the show that consumed so much of me and my life for six seasons. rewatching it brought me back to my college days where we’d freak out over new promo photos and frantically reblog gif sets immediately after the show aired, and just being absolutely obsessed of the will they/wont they of mindy and danny, how we analyzed all the photos from set and the writer’s room and scripts, wrote incredible pieces of work, created fan vids and art, and how this show brought so many people together to this corner of the internet, and my god all the discourse, both good and bad lol.

but nostalgia for the tmp fandom aside, i’m just reminded of how much i love mindy and danny, even after all this time. they were never perfect. they were frustrating, messy, real, passionate, dynamic, lovable and unlikeable all at once, but they were really something. 🥹

“Ow, Danny, you’re tearing out my hair! Some of it’s real, ow, stop!”

“Well, stop wiggling! You’re like a slippery little eel, I can’t get a grasp!”

Danny’s fingers dig into the meat of Mindy’s hip, which, even with the working out, still has a bit of give to the flesh, and she squeals.

“Danny, what did you just poke me with?”

He sighs in exasperation, and maybe a little frustration. “Look, I said stop moving, I’m only human…”

“What does THAT mean?” She shrieks, somehow managing to yell right in his ear. His fingers grasp a little harder.

“It means,” he hisses, his wrist still firmly embedded in a snarl of thick black hair. “That you’re rubbing your wet, naked ass against my groin and some things are out of my control.” He lets go of her and futilely attempts to untangle his watch again.

Mindy gasps and squirms, twisting herself until she’s facing him, which means his free arm is now around her neck.

“Daniel Castellano, you’re the one grinding your greasy, sweaty muscles against me when I’m trapped here like some sort of sex prisoner.” She accentuates her words by slapping at his chest, but it changes mid sentence to almost a caress. “What kind of perverted things even go on in here?”

“You’re not in a seventies porno, Mindy. For one thing, you’re way too bare, you know…” Danny clicks his tongue, keeping his eyes firmly trained on his watch and as he unwinds strand after strand.

“Rude!” She pushes him hard now and Danny’s feet slip out from under him. He grabs at Mindy for balance, but she slips too, and they both end up in a heap on the ground, slick damp bodies pressed together.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, Mindy. You pulled my watch loose.” He looks up at her as she peers down, concern etched on her face. “You can get off.”

A smile twists her lips as she leans down, brushing her breasts against his chest, watching as his pupils dilate.

“I kind of already am.”

So, we learned recently that legend @jsmapdi has passed, and it's takng me a while to get to grips with that. You can read some lovely things written by Alex and Nico in the link below. Like @likerealpeopledo-on-ao3 wrote, I knew her very well and am struggling with a way to say how wonderful she was in real life.

So for now I'm sharing a little bit of her writing that captures her greatest gifts, which were to tell a great tale in a way that's both funny as fuck, and irrepressibly horny.

Never have I ever...

thought I'd post here again. I mainly wrapped this tumblr with the end of The Mindy Project, but just stopping by to say if you're not watching Never Have I Ever on Netflix you are missing out on a great deal of joy. And pain. Truly a gem.

I feel like a dick for even considering it, but I’m thinking of selling my signed season three finale – “Best Man” – The Mindy Project shooting script. 

It’s signed by Mindy Kaling (with a cute little heart) and even features scenes that didn’t make the episode – I’ve posted those before, but I think it’s really cool to own.

It’s in immaculate condition (it’s spent its life in a box and that’s not fair!) and comes with a COA from the Television Academy Foundation where I won it from in a charity auction.

If anyone is interested or knows someone who would be, let me know? I don’t want to get ridiculous with the price but know that shipping from Australia alone will probably cost a bit. Send me an offer or any other inquiries.
