Thank you so much to everyone who made this event possible. We are absolutely blown away by the amazing response the fandom has had and the amount we all raised! We started this thinking “we’re a small niche, a few hundred dollars would be awesome,” and it has been incredible to see the Marvel fandom, creators and bidders alike, show up in support of Black Lives Matter and our beloved Black characters. 

This inaugural year went above and beyond our expectations and we are so grateful for the opportunity to work with this awesome fandom. OVER FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS Y’ALL??? That is just beautifully mind blowing. 

This year's top three charities all received $500+ from our awesome bidders! 

A thousand thank you’s for the support from this community. Special shoutout to the mods from @marveltrumpshate @fandomtrumpshate and @charityhawktion who volunteered advice, templates and their time to help us get off the ground. 

To every creator who offered fanwork, everyone who bid, and all those who signal boosted and promoted this event: we thank you. None of this could have happened without your generosity.

Black lives matter. There are many ways, in and out of fandom, short- and long-term, to support the movement's goals.

What you can do to keep the momentum going:

  • Follow us on Tumblr and Twitter to see the wonderful creations as they get posted and promo that new content by reblogging/retweeting
  • Support BLM goals in other fandom charity events ( @fandomtrumpshate @marveltrumpshate @craftforchange and more!)
  • Show support and love for Black creators and characters, in all fandom events and in fandom at large! 
  • Think critically about your fandom consumption and creation with regard to race and other intersections of identity.
  • Check out our Resources page. This is just the beginning! There are many resources with ways to support.
  • Keep sharing and signal boosting BLM orgs, funds, goals, and news.

Here’s my Nick Fury-centric mood board for the wonderful @navaan, who won one of my @marvelfans4blm​ auctions and donated to the NAACP LDF! I was very happy to find out that navaan adored Fury as much as I do and she wanted a Fury mood board. She had a few ideas, but she settled on Fury, Carol, and Maria being a little family after the events of Captain Marvel. 

We both imagined that Fury and Carol, with everything they get up to at SHIELD and in space, respectively, like having a place to come back to, where they can find comfort, security, and peace in between missions. Fury would keep his family in Louisiana a secret; he would want to protect the Rambeaus and Carol for their sake as well as his because they mean more to him than he’d ever admit out loud. (A few people at SHIELD know about Carol, but they don’t know the bond she and Fury have. He keeps his mouth shut about Monica when she eventually joins SHIELD even though he’s her Uncle Nick. Maria is unsurprised by all this.)

Anyway, I wanted to keep the colors of this mood board warm and dark; black is obviously Fury’s signature color and golden light for intimacy and coziness. :) I love this little family so much! Thanks so much for the prompt, navaan.

There are many things MJ doesn't like about college. One of them is her roommates, who weren't really the academic type. Another was her lab partner, Peter Parker, who seemed insanely smart but was always running late and doing his work at the last minute. It was annoying when a lot of that work they had to do together, and the grade reflected both of them. And, her professor wouldn't let her switch partners. After getting to know him, however, it seems there's more to him than meets the eye.

This was written for the @marvelfans4blm event! It focuses on MJ as she and Peter meet for the first time in college. Hope you enjoy!

After some waiting time for creating and delivering the art to the amazing @artgroves thanks to the wonderful collaborative project @marvelfans4blm, here it is!!

I went a bit overboard with the number of characters depicted in one drawing but it was a great challenge and beside I really had fun making it!!

I used this excuse to also deliver a little Crack bonus of those four~

This Never Happened Before

A gift for @bethyedolphin9870 who was my winning bidder for @marvelfans4blm

It was a joke between her and Harry, back when they were dating - why the owners would have a mailbox out in front when any actual mail would get sent to their place of residence. Harry had joked that it was a rich people thing, part of the whole ‘cabin out in the middle of nowhere’ mystery that Michelle had just rolled her eyes at.

She’s glad for it now, sliding the letter into the mailbox and lifting the little red handle to indicate that there’s something there - hoping that whoever the next guest is that they’d check it out.

Whether they did or they didn’t, Michelle did her part - feeling just a little bit lighter as she glances out over the lake house one more time.
