On one hand I wanna be like “it’s okay to be ugly” to push back against the demands of a world that says we have to constantly pursue a fleeting and rare ideal but on the other hand, what even is “ugly” if we strip it down of its racism, transphobia, classism, and ableism, ya feel?

Yeah seriously, sex education never told me any of this in school. Little me was panicked seeing the dark coloured bits and i had no clue that’s just the normal colour blood goes when its clotted or dried.

you’re supposed to protect your children from whoever would hit them, not hit them yourself! you’re supposed to destroy anyone who would call your child a monster, not do it yourself! you’re supposed to get enraged at every implication that your child is worthless or a waste of space, not subtly imply it and get your child to believe it! you’re supposed to teach your child that damaging their body, or emotions, or self worth, is unforgivable, not make it their daily occurrence! you’re supposed to be safety net from abuse, not the fucking source of the damage!

okay guys, there’s something we need to talk about more.. 

netflix just released the film ‘ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga’ which is an indian movie about a girl who’s into girls and how she gets the courage to come out and face her family and be with the woman she loves. sound familiar? yeah, i know it’s the basic plot of most hollywood lgbtq movies but that’s not the point. 

this is literally the first indian movie i’ve seen on a famous platform, accessible by anyone, that actually represents the lgbtq community in all its beauty and love and affection, rather that scorning or mocking it. 

the movie is beautiful and the scenes and the fluff and the cute couple and the emotions just make it so worth watching, and that’s not all.

i’m an indian bisexual teenager and i would’ve been so happy to have been exposed to a movie like this when i was younger. if i had seen this kind of portrayal in the film industry, i doubt that i would’ve been the afraid young girl i was and i would’ve had the courage to do what the main characters did and just BE MYSELF. 

all i hope is that someone sees this movie, some little girl out there sees it and knows that she is not alone, that she is not abnormal. with a topic such as this, which has been treated as taboo for decades now in my country (still is kinda), when it is actually being represented and being represented well, i can’t help but wanna scream about it from the rooftops.

Bees do not suffer when beekeepers take their honey, because experienced beekeepers do not take all of their honey, in fact, they leave plenty of honey left for the bees to consume over the winter. If we do not collect their honey, 1 of two things will happen.

1. they will leave for a bigger home. Which at first seems fine until you remember that bees are dying very quickly out in the wild.

or

2. They will start using the areas that they reserve for their young as a place to make more honey. This is bad because if no more young are being produced, then the hive will start to die out because no new workers are coming into the world, and the average live only 150 days, so it would also mean the loss of more bees.

So yeah, eating honey isn’t inhumane at all. In fact, you’re helping the bees by eating what they produce and giving money to the bee keepers who are the ones making sure that the hive will keep being healthy.

Children are still growing and rationalising the world around them, if you are a dick to kids, they don’t understand that you’ve had a tough day, they don’t understand that you’ve just been yelled at by your boss, all they understand is that they are a problem, they’ve done something wrong. In their minds adults are the authority, we are the people they look up to, they think we’ve got everything together. You yell at them and they internalise that shit!! They go about their day all bubbly then stop in the middle of joking with friends, remember you yelling at them and go off in a corner and cry. Don’t be a dick to kids, you don’t have to like them but fucking tolerate them and be decent.
