Pro-Choice?
Being a biological male i donāt understand abortion. If you got raped yeah I understand but if you sit there and have sex and then get pregnant you deal with the consequences. I donāt understand why youād want to kill something you made inside your body. Can someone who is pro choice explain this to me?
Abortion is a way to deal with the consequences.
I know, being someone who will never have to deal with pregnancy, itās difficult to understand why someone might not want to spend nine months throwing up, getting kicked in the ribs and cervix, with an aching back, with round ligament pain, with sciatica, muscle cramps, swollen feet, headaches, insomnia, exhaustion, nausea, frequent urination, aching hips, all while risking future health and maybe even their life.
And I understand, as someone who will never have to experience it, how you might not understand why someone doesnāt want to endure hours of painful labor followed by having another human ripped or cut from your body.
And I know you canāt possibly understand why someone might not want to then spend 6-8 weeks bleeding profusely in huge chunks from their, possibly, torn vagina. Unable to sit properly. Or piss without it burning. Or even shit without bursting into tears. Or, you know, if they had to have their abdomen sliced open, they would have to deal with that. And you might have had abdominal surgery at some point. So maybe you could see why someone might not want to endure that.
And I mean, since youāll never have to worry about losing your income due to pregnancy and then thousands of dollars worth of bills that start rolling in before youāre even back on your feet, I can see why that doesnāt seem like a big deal to you.
But why donāt we just trust people to make their own medical decisions. And if itās something youāll never have to worry about, thatās even MORE reason to just mind your own business.

Do men have unprotected sex one day and then again 3 months later and then spend the next 6 months terrified that the STD youāre cheating husband gave you on the 2nd sex night might harm the baby you conceived the first night when he pressured you to have sex you didnāt even want until you gave in just to shut him up? No.
Do men have sex that leads to seven layers of stitches from a cesarean? No.
Do men have sex and then have to stop taking really important psychiatric medication for the better part of a year while holding down a job and dealing with the stress of an unwanted life altering event? No.

Sex that gives you the super expensive medical condition of pregnancy while prolonging your unemployment by almost a year? No.
Do men have sex that interferes with your scholarships or prevents you from graduating as planned? No.
But
Men DO refuse to have sex with a condom to avoid discomfort.
Men DO take condoms off during sex.
Men DO rape women with ridiculous frequency.
Men DO drug women and rape them while unconscious.
Men DO commit incest and molest women and girls way too often.
Men DO manipulate and coerce women into sex very aggressively.
Men DO lie about having had a vasectomy or being infertile.
Men DO beg women to have a baby, promising a stable family and then abandon women during the pregnancy, changing all the circumstances of the decision she made on the one sex night.
Male bosses DO force women to have sex or lose their job, and they arenāt usually accommodating about her family planning concerns.
Men DO abuse women much more during pregnancy, often killing the baby or mother and child after frequent and targeted attacks targeting her stomach.
Thatās just a few off the top of my head.Ā
Men take liberties with womenās bodies and then stand back and watch our bodies undergo a process that can kill us and act like we owe it to them.
Men very, very, very often abandon women during this process or after she has survived it. Leaving her as the custodial parent and limiting her life decisions for the next 18 years while he sends a court-mandated check from three states aways that doesnāt even cover daycare.
Then men make laws about how we have to see it through to the end no matter what no matter how badly it goes. No matter how dangerous it is for us.
The least, the very minimal least they could do is knock it off with the reproductive laws, for Peteās sake.
Iām glad you asked, @mistermistyeyed-gangster
