Its about time I announce/ make an info page explaining the TTRPG i’ve been working on for the past year. The TTRPG still has a few things to iron out but i feel its starting to become stable now after a number of beta test groups.

If you want to join the discord for the project you can find it here: https://discord.gg/yAyHRVEzhA

I also post semi weekly updates with new art and rule updates for the project on my patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/yeeshastone I hope to soon have a website up for the project as well, but it will still be a bit before that will be fully ready. One it is though ill make a more ‘official post’ for the project.

For the next few days I plan to post more info about the project such as different snippets of the rules and species sheets to give you a feel for the project and me a feel for the interest in it! artist credit for the pictures in this post will be bellow the cut

due to all the links in this post for the artist credit and other things it is likely tumblr will make it hard to find this post, so if you could reblog that would be helpful!

Depending on how things shake out, id like to do a lot more of Animalia posting here come August, so for those of you who are new to the blog, here is all the info you need to understand the basics of the project!

Website is still under construction but is about 60% finished so getting there slowly but surely.

The Cenchoa have been added as a Serpentes subspecies to the Animalia Almanac as well as their legend.

The Cenchoa are a type of Serpentes with long, thin bodies and large bulbus heads and eyes. Their common name is the fiddle string Serpentes due to the shape of their bodies and their close relation to the instrument. Many Cenchoa study hard to learn how to play the fiddle making them great performers. I managed to listen to a performance while studying them and found myself lost in its eerie, yet soothing sounds. I can only imagine what an orchestra made up of Cenchoa would sound like and perhaps one day I may get the opportunity to be in the audience for one such performance.

Their full sheet can be found in the Almanac here: https://animaliaalmanac.com/Almanac/Lore/Serpentes/Subspecies/Cenchoa.html

Can I ask whatever happened to the Pokemon DnD sheets? The site isn't showing up for me anymore :(

Yes, im sorry the site is officially offline for the pokemon dnd project. You see I got an angry letter from TPC and was told to stop working on the project I had been dedicated to for 5 years and so with a heavy heart I had to closed it all down.

I am now working on my own personal TTRPG project that is based around animals and my own lore and I am no longer working on the dnd pkmn project, sorry.

some of the old race sheets prob can be found on my tumblr page if you still want to look at those and I think a old mod is still running the discord server IIRC, but the project is no longer part of my life as everything Pokemon related kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth now.

The Guild log book has been updated!

Log book notes written by Vulpes leader: "The Vulpes documentation has been updated. It should now have all of the different subspecies colors and flags. Each flag is now labeled and should connect back to the Vulpes subspecies they are connected to.. I also added the base legend for the Vulpes species, although its looking a bit dry without any art so I will need to find something for it when I get a second. The text has also been adjusted a little to hopefully read a bit better."

(see full logbook for more info, there are two secrets if you can find them.)

This months subspecies sheet is out! (already? I know!)

This species is known for their amazing cooking skills and golden crown of feathers. Every year a large cooking competition is held on the Schlegeli home island of Macquarie where the most amazing dishes are made. There are prizes for the most tasty dish, but also prize for those that can make a tasty dish with some of the most disgusting tasting ingredients. This is done in the spirit of the Schlegeli legend where their ancestors had to eat the horrible tasting crown of thorns plant to survive.

full subspecies sheet and legend can be found here

The Grandis are a noble subspecies. They guard their targets with unwavering loyalty and many are willing to put down their lives for those that they have sworn to protect. Because of the this the Grandis are often hired for the more dangerous guard duties such as watching dangerous prisoners or repugnant elites.

Although the Grandis choose what jobs they take, many may find themselves taking up less then ideal jobs due to their wandering nature. Most Grandis do not have a place to call home and will sleep out on the hard ground if they do not currently have a job that pays them or gives them free room and board. This is not because they can't own a house, but rather most follow the traditions of their ancestors and choose to not have things that tie them to one place.

full info on the Grandis subspecies can be found here: https://animaliaalmanac.com/Almanac/Lore/Aves/Subspecies/Grandis.html Artist for the above artwork: Bundew- https://ko-fi.com/bundew

this is the subspecies for February!

Anyone have any suggestions for good alt social sites? I've done Instagram a little but not being able to schedule posts on desktop has made it a really hard for me to post there. Twitter also never really worked for me. Most my followers I have here from my pkmn dnd project from back in the day (or bots) and I don't know if I'll be able to get any interest in my current project elsewhere. I have a bluesky account but I'm not sure about there. Happy to hear any suggestions cuse I'm afraid I may be going down with this ship whenever it eventually sinks.

Send me the name of your favorite bird (scentfic or common) and I'll give you a 5 second animalia head cannon about them.

aight, this is prob the last one I will do for now, but I will prob give this another go in the future since it was a lot of fun.

( i like a lot of this youtubers videos)

the blue jay is always stunning and I love their patterns. Its one of the few Aves I have actually made an cosplay outfit for.

The blue jay is a corvid that is smart and extremely talkative. They will use their vocalization to trick other birds that danger is near so they can get the food others are eating. They also loose all the feathers on their head when they molt making them look bald for a time.

my 5 second animalia thought: There is a bluejay that is head of a quite sneaky bandit group. This group is full of mimicking birds, from parrots to lyre birds each member must be able to copy sounds that they hear well. The blue jay will go into a small town looking panicked and upon finding the leader of the town will start to cry as they say that a large military force is just outside the city. The force will only go away if they are paid a decent amount of money (not so much that fighting back is a necessary option for the town). If anyone attempts to inspect the area outside the town, the other members of the bandit group who are hidden just beyond it will start to make sounds as if a large army was about to charge the city. Most citys will quickly give in and give the blue jay the money to send the group away. If their plan fails then the bandits will start a fire wherever they can and run, hopeing that the town will either burn down or think the army outside their wall has burned themselves down.

Let us consider, the Mourning Dove

Avatar

ah the morning dove, this one I do know and i absolutely adore them.

These birds are dust bathers rather then cleaning their feathers with oil like ducks. The mourning in their name comes from is from their melancholy, mournful song.

my 5 second animalia take: there is a small group of Mourning doves who's society prefers to cremate their dead. They will then distribute it among the Aves who's died loved ones. This dust/ ash is often then used by the living within their dust baths when the Mourning dove feels like they need the protection or aid of their loved one that passed. Many who participate in this ritual claim that they can occasionally see their loved ones after using it.

I personally love Pootoo birds and Java Finches if you would like to do one of those!

Avatar

Your in luck! I actually have a whole race sheet for the pootoo as well as a legend here:

I have actually done quite a bit of research for them and am happy to give you a personal take on what one may look like in the world of animalia.

However in the spirit of my 5 second research fix I will do Java finches.

With my 5 seconds of research, I found that Java finches are a bird that has been bred by humans for quite some time and thus are considered quite tame. they have many different morphs and have a love for grain fields like rice.

My 5 second animalia take: there is a Java finches out there who spends much of their time as a butler to a large rice barron. They don't work in the fields themselves as their job is more to maintain the Barron's house, but on their days off they can be found walking through the rice fields inspecting the crop... or that's what they want you to think.

Secrectly, they are looking for rice plants or grains that are of top quality and will secretly place the rice in their pocket or bag. They then will take the rice home to their own secret rice field where they will experiment with the high-quality rice in an attempt to splice a rice plant together and make the most delectable rice in the world. Their rice patch is small, but the rice they grow within it is like nothing anyone else has ever seen...or rather, tasted.

Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans)?

Avatar

Ooh, I haven't heard of this one. After a quick 5 second research I found these birds are part of the fly catcher family and live near lakes where they use mud to build there nests.

My 5 second animalia headcannon is:

There is a black phoebe that spends most its days drifting down a large river that is hundreds of miles long. They float down it on a raft they made from mud and use a small, hand woven net to skim the serface of the water in an attempt to catch rare bugs. When they reach the end of the river they will sell the bugs they have caught and will travel back to the top of the river and do it all over again with a new raft that they once more craft out of mud. Some say they are looking for a special bug but no one is quite sure what bug, or why they have devotes their life to finding it.
