Submissions are officially closed!

Since last night anyway, I’m sure most of you guys have noticed ;) At this point I’d like to thank everyone for the lovely forms they sent in, I hope we can find all of you lots of nice friends!

So what’s gonna happen now is that we will be starting the matching process. How’s that going to work? Well, let me give you a broad overview of what you can expect to happen in the next few days:

  • Firstly, we will organize all the forms we have received - both private and public - by age, interests etc. and comprise every participant a list of possible new friend candidates going from the information you entered in your submissions.
  • Then we will interview each participant privately through the direct messenger to find out who out of their list of candidates matches with their personality and preferences. Don’t worry, everything you tell us will be treated with utmost discretion, and you absolutely do not have to answer a question if it makes you uncomfortable. What we will be asking you will mostly be general stuff like whether you will respect your new buddy’s potentially differing headcanons, ship preferences etc. but we might ask some extra stuff too, going from the answers you gave in your form. We will also tell you a bit of general stuff about your potential new buddy (without revealing their identity, of course) and give you the opportunity to relay some questions you might like to ask them.
  • After we’ve affirmed that two candidates show promise of getting along well, we will reveal each other’s identity to them (also privately, of course). From there on it will be up to you to get in contact with your new buddy :)

Hey guys, important update: Thanks to your support we hit the 100 followers mark last night, and our numbers continue to rise! This is a good time as any to begin the matching process, as we’ve gotten a decent amount of submissions so far. But we wanna give you guys who haven’t submitted a form yet some more time, so we’ll be leaving the submit box open until Sunday the 22th January, 23:59 am CET.

Remember, to participate in the fandom-friend-finding process, just fill out the form you can find on our submit page ;) If you still have questions I recommend checking out the About or FAQ, but of course our askbox is always open to you as well.

I think a fundamental part of online friendships that people ‘outside’ fail to understand is how comforting it is to have friends right there in your pocket who will keep you company in good times and bad, listen to your rants, let you vent, be supportive whilst offering outsider perspective…

  • Need to be alone but need support too? Pocket friends.
  • Something awful just happened and there’s nobody around for you to tell? Pocket friends.
  • Need to let your feelings out but don’t want people to see you ugly-cry? Pocket friends.

Keep being amazing, pocket friends. You couldn’t possibly imagine how important you are.
